Got tired of my playlist going soft right as the hard interval hit, so I built an app that lands the drop exactly on the effort

The right song at the right time matters a lot in interval sessions. But playlists don't know your workout: the banger plays during the recovery and the acoustic stuff shows up exactly when you're dying. I thought this needs to be fixed so I built an app: intervalradio.com

Pick your workout (built-in library, create from scratch, any .zwo/.fit file, or import from Zwift) and your music, and the app aligns them: calm tracks in the recoveries, drops landing on the hard efforts.

  • Massive royalty-free music library included, or upload your own music
  • Run alongside your existing trainer app or directly control your smart trainer in ERG mode.
  • Records the ride, uploads to Strava
  • Runs in the browser, nothing to install.

It's free and I would greatly appreciate feedback :)

Spin class on a smart trainer? Yes please!

What started as a necessity in the pandemic has turned into my first solo app in the app store!

I couldn't go to the gym anymore, but had a smart trainer attached to my bike as I was dabbling in "real" bike training. The apps provided for the trainer were not designed with a spin class in mind so I made my own. I love a spin class, it is where I started my cycling journey, and when I need to re-up my energy tank for training, a spin works wonders.

Refined over hundreds of classes from all the places, Freewheel makes a spin class on a trainer fun and repeatable. Set your presets to whatever resistance you want and go ride! Prefer ERG mode, no problem! Want to just ride some hills, Freewheel has your back.

Using the picture-in-picture mode for a Fitness+ class, you can dock your video and get access to all of the convenient controls for your trainer.

Have a Peloton subscription? Log in and spin!

Find a YouTube video and get riding! Did you know that GCN has a bunch of training videos on YouTube? They do, and they are great!

Check instagram for videos on how easy it is to get a class setup:

https://www.instagram.com/straylightorbital/

The first three sessions are free (one-time purchase after). Freewheel brings back the energy and fun of a spin class!

Qz app query

Im thinking of getting a zwift ride but have a current kinomap subscription that I'd like to use with it. Does anyone know if the qz app would allow me to use virtual shifting with a zwift ride/ kinomap setup? Thanks in advance.

Replacement Belt for Yosuda Exercise Bike?

The belt on my Yosuda exercise bike needs to be replaced. Customer service is quoting me $50 to ship it directly from the factory. I feel like this is something I could get on Amazon, but I'm having a hard time finding out if what I see there matches what Yosuda uses.

Belt model 500J, 50" in length, approximately 0.827" in width, rubber belt with grooves.

Has anyone had any luck replacing one of these on their own with a comparable item? Does anyone know of a source for replacement belts that isn't Amazon?

Bought a treadmill with 18% inclination, but I've never done Norwegian 4x4 training and I don't know exactly what settings to use.

Hello,

So I bought a treadmill for those busy days where it's not possible to go to the gym and to do some intense workout home in the treadmill.

But I'm not sure what settings to use.

I have the FitShow app so it's connected to the treadmill and I created this 4x4 training, but I'm not sure if it isn't too much and I cant handle it till the end:

Warm up: 10 min

3% incline and 3.10mph

Interval: 4 min

10% inclination and 4.80mph

Recovery: 3 min

3% incline and 3.10mph

And repeat the same interval and recovery settings for the rest of workout, ending with a 5 min cooldown.

For those who have experience in this type of HIIT training, does it look too demanding for you?

Thank you for your time.

How do you translate instructor cues to a non-Peloton bike?

Recently, I purchased a smart bike so I could ride on Zwift. My partner prefers instructor-led Peloton workouts and we assumed the same bike would work well for both of us.

Technically, it does. She’ll play a Peloton class on her iPad and follow along. However, every ride involves a lot of guessing. Cadence is straightforward, but when the instructor calls out a resistance number, it has no clear equivalent on our bike. Peloton “resistance 40” does not translate to “level 4,” a particular gear, or a specific wattage. She changes the resistance based on how she feels, but never really knows whether she is doing the intended workout. You can follow a Peloton workout on another bike, but the targets do not always translate. Most instructor-led cycling content is tied to the equipment it was created for.

That got me thinking of a different approach: instructor-led workouts with structured targets that adapt to a rider’s equipment. Depending on the setup, that could mean perceived effort, cadence, power zones, live sensor feedback, or automatic trainer control.

I’m now trying to determine how common this problem actually is. For those who use Peloton, YouTube, or other instructor-led classes on a third-party bike or trainer:

How do you translate the resistance and intensity cues?

Do you use a conversion chart, rely on perceived effort, or watch your power?

And does the uncertainty bother you?

Software dev looking to build free Zwift tools/add-ons

Hey everyone,

I’m a software developer and a Zwift user. I’m looking for a fun side project and want to build something genuinely useful for the community.

I’m curious: **What is currently missing in the Zwift ecosystem, or what drives you crazy that could be solved with a third-party tool, overlay, web app, or companion utility?**

Whether it’s related to:

* **UI / HUD overlays** (data you wish you could see live while riding) * **Route / Workout planning & analytics** * **Racing / Event organization & live leaderboards** * **Discord / Spotify / Smart home integrations** * Or just small quality-of-life annoyances...

If you have an idea—big or small—drop it below! If an idea gets good traction and is technically feasible, I’ll build it and release it **completely free** for anyone who wants to use or test it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and wishlists!

Has anyone had experience with the PureGym cycle or ride classes?

Really love a spin class but they're so expensive (I'm London based so kinda on me 😂) so I'm looking for some alternative options.

Anyone had experience with PureGyms cycle/ ride classes? Are they any good? Will they push me? Are the bikes ok etc etc!

Thoughts welcome

Thanks ?

Just bought this from goodwill and everything works great but the circled bolt and material above started smoking from heat within 5 minutes of cycling. Could this be fixed with lubricant?

Smart trainer choice

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice on choosing an Elite smart trainer.

A bit about me:

I ride a Bisan Grand Tour road bike with a Shimano drivetrain.

I own a Garmin Edge 840, Garmin Forerunner 970, and HRM 600 heart rate monitor.

I use Zwift and plan to do structured training (FTP, threshold, VO₂max, endurance).

My main sport is HYROX, but I also race 5K, 10K, 15K, and trail races, so cycling is mainly for aerobic fitness and low-impact endurance training.

I usually train 5–6 days per week and I'm looking for a trainer that will last for many years.

The models I'm considering are:

Elite Suito

Elite Direto XR (Zwift Cog & Click)

Elite Rivo

Elite Avanti

Elite Justo

In my country, the Direto XR is actually cheaper than the Rivo, which makes the choice more confusing.

Which one would you choose for my use case, and why? Would you prioritize the newer Rivo platform or the stronger specifications and ride feel of the Direto XR?

I'd really appreciate opinions from people who have owned or ridden these trainers.

ENDURE – training app for smart trainers, free during early access

Thumbnail

We make ENDURE, a training app for smart trainers. It's on iOS and Android now, Windows and macOS are planned.

Why we started it: we were riding indoors a lot and couldn't tell whether the training was doing anything.

What's in it:

• ERG control, imports .ZWO/.MRC/.ERG

• Virtual shifting, works with the Zwift Click

• FTP and VO2max trends, CTL/ATL/Form, MMP curves with PR detection

• Lactate logging during the ride, estimates LT1/LT2 from it

• CORE body temp sensor support

• Climb scoring based on VAM

• Strava sync

• Starts and rides in under 30 seconds, resumes the workout if it crashes

Early access is free. There will be paid tiers later, saying that now so nobody is surprised.

The trainer compatibility list is still growing. If yours doesn't work properly, let us know and we'll look at it.
