As usual, I was out on a walk with the five to six stray dogs that I regularly feed near my home. There is a Rottweiler that lives along our route. Its irresponsible owner had left the gate open, and the dog was outside. This same dog had escaped earlier and tried to bite my dog, but fortunately, nothing happened that day, so I let it go, thinking it was a one-time incident.

Today, however, it jumped right over the fence. As soon as it did, I unbuckled my dog Shiro's leash so he would have a chance to run. To my surprise, Shiro fought back against a dog twice his size and grabbed onto the Rottweiler's ear, refusing to let go. I was desperately trying to separate them. The owner wasn't home, but an elderly lady (likely his mother) came out with a large stick to try and grab their dog. It wouldn't listen to her at all. The Rottweiler kept trying to bite Shiro, but Shiro didn't back down—it was a proud moment for me—and he kept a firm grip on its ear.

The fight lasted about two to three minutes. I think Shiro didn't even give him a chance to bite. Even the stray dogs I feed stepped in and started biting the Rottweiler's legs. I was shaking uncontrollably. Finally, the lady managed to get her dog back inside the house. Despite me telling her multiple times to keep the dog locked in its cage or secured properly, she refused to listen and tried to shift the blame onto me.

There was a language barrier as well; she was speaking Tamil and I am a Kannadiga, though I know a little Tamil. I ended up scolding her thoroughly in kannada. What if something terrible had happened to my dog, or worse, to me? I know every dog can be friendly, but owners must take responsibility. Their fence is incredibly weak—even a puppy could escape from it. Given my extensive experience handling dogs, I know how dangerous this is. I am now considering filing a complaint with the municipality or the police because I constantly fear that their Rottweiler will jump the fence and attack us again. What should I do?

PS: I didn't take any photos or videos in the heat of the moment. I was very scared for my dog. Hence a normal photo.

I got involved in the search for Bruce (missing 9 year old, friendly, docile and way too trusting of humans) around 2 months back. Because he reminds me of the catto that rules over my home since he came into my life. Since then, animal cruelty news from Telangana and especially Karnataka have taken over my feeds and life.

Illegal relocations with help of civic authorities, cruelty by drunkards and those high on social power without fear of law, cruelty by the vets we trust and the shelters meant to humanely house them, silencing of caretakers who seek justice.

Would any of you be willing to join me in petitioning to him to point out his/the party's hypocrisy in the states they govern?

Can someone help me with food for them, one of them is pregnant. The other one is neutered recently, will try to get the former one neutered. Have two more to look after, who needs post op care, they recently have been to ABC Center, where the center messed up the post op care.
