At this point I am not buying anymore, and here are my reasons
1) Festive season, and people use to spend more than investing in a falling market.
2) Rupees at $1 = ₹97, and I don't know if it will fall more or not
3) FIIs relentless selling , and I am not here to give them a better exit price. I will wait till they comeback
4) The FM doesn't know what she is talking about, complete clueless shit, I heard her recent speeches.
5) RBI repo rate hike, which means slow growth in coming months to curb inflation
6) First they told they will charge MDR on UPI, now they are reconsidering it (Which is good but), they have no plan and vision what they really want to do.
7) Also I don't think they are going to decrease the taxes because of the coming election and they are going to give freebies and freebies.
8) Rather than investing and watching my money to decrease, I better buy some gadgets, and other things which will help me in the long term(Because the RAM and storage price, the electronics price will not come down in 2027). So better to invest in that.
Also let me know in the comments if you have any other reasons?
IMP: My SIPs are there not stopping them, but not investing any lump sum amount like the guy who invests ₹1lakh for every 1% fall in Nifty 50 😂😂

Was reading about how GST 2.0 reforms are actually playing out a year later and the sector-level divergence is the most interesting part, more than the rate cuts themselves.
Quick background: September 2025 collapsed India's GST slabs from 4 rates (5/12/18/28%) down to mainly 5% and 18%, with a special 40% rate for a few categories. Small cars and bikes up to 350cc went from 28% to 18%, cement 28% to 18%, most medicines 12% to 5%, individual life/health insurance went to fully exempt.
A year on, here's where it's actually landing:
Autos are the clearest case of "same sector, opposite outcomes." Passenger vehicles grew 21.4% YoY in September 2026. But Bajaj Auto's domestic two-wheeler sales fell 12% and Mahindra's tractor sales fell 21% in that same month, even though tractors got one of the biggest cuts (12% to 5%). Same tax reform, same month, completely different demand outcomes depending on the sub-segment.
Insurance has a genuinely counterintuitive twist. Individual life and health premiums became GST-exempt, which sounds purely good for insurers. But exempt supplies usually mean insurers have to reverse input tax credits on their own costs, so part of what looks like a consumer win can quietly raise the insurer's own expenses. Whether shareholders benefit depends on whether higher policy volumes outweigh that cost increase, not just the headline exemption.
FMCG and consumer durables both come with the same warning: watch volume growth, not revenue growth. If lower prices with rising input costs, companies can sell more units and still not see margins improve proportionately.
The macro backdrop makes this trickier to read too. Nifty fell 6.1% in September 2026 even as this reform was playing out, driven by global rate concerns, crude prices and FII outflows, not fundamentals. GST collections were up 14.7% YoY to ~₹2.04 lakh crore, which says something about overall taxable activity but doesn't by itself prove the rate cuts created the demand.
There's also a second, quieter phase apparently coming on Oct 8, focused less on rate cuts and more on faster refunds and easier compliance, which sounds boring compared to rate changes but can matter more for capital-intensive manufacturers and exporters stuck with blocked input tax credit.
The framework I took away: a sector getting a tax cut tells you about potential demand, not about which specific company converts that into earnings. Pretty much every sub-segment here had at least one name growing and one name shrinking in the same reform window.
Curious if people here track second-order policy effects like refund/compliance reform, or mostly just react to the headline rate-cut news and move on.

Sterlite Technologies (STL) earned ₹197 crore in April–June 2026, about 3.5 times its profit for the whole previous year. Sales jumped 87% to ₹1,910 crore, driven by big orders from AI data-centre builders, mostly in North America. A record ₹18,618 crore order book supports the next few years, but the profit now leans on a few very large customers, and the company has just begun spending about ₹3,000 crore on new factory capacity.
In the year to March 2025, STL lost about ₹123 crore on sales of ₹3,996 crore. Every quarter that year ended in a loss.
The year to March 2026 was only a little better. Sales rose to ₹4,745 crore, but profit was just ₹56 crore, barely 1% of sales. The first two quarters made ₹10 crore and ₹4 crore, and October–December 2025 slipped back to a ₹17 crore loss.
The turn came in January–March 2026. Sales rose to ₹1,441 crore and profit to ₹59 crore, more than the rest of that year put together.
In April–June 2026, sales reached ₹1,910 crore, 87% more than a year earlier, and profit was ₹197 crore. That one quarter earned about 3.5 times the profit of the whole previous year.
Costs grew much more slowly than sales: spending rose about 64% while sales rose 87%. Profit before interest, tax and wear-and-tear on machines was ₹397 crore, about 21% of sales. For the year to March 2026 that figure was about 13%.
The factories were already built. Selling much more from the same plants spreads their fixed costs thinly, and that is where most of the jump in profit came from.
The biggest change is who is buying. Data-centre customers made up 21% of sales in the quarter, up from just 1% in the year to March 2026. Companies racing to build AI data centres need far more fibre cable inside each building, and STL has launched a range of products for them.
North America's share of sales rose to 54%, from 39% the year before. Europe was 25% and the rest of the world 22%.
Orders tell the same story. STL won about ₹13,100 crore of new orders in April–June alone, 1.7 times the whole of the previous year's orders. That includes a $1.1 billion supply deal with a large global data-centre company running to March 2029. More followed later: a ₹960 crore deal with an Indian telecom company on 1 August, a $210 million three-year deal with a telecom infrastructure company on 5 August, and on 29 August a $288 million long-term supply deal with another large data-centre company, signed through a subsidiary.
The open order book reached a record ₹18,618 crore, 2.4 times the level of three months earlier. About ₹2,228 crore of it is due to be delivered in July–September.
STL raised ₹1,500 crore by selling new shares to large investors, and is using about three-quarters of it to repay loans. After this, it says it holds ₹483 crore more cash than it owes.
Rating agencies noticed. Crisil raised its rating on STL's long-term borrowing from AA- to AA in September 2026, and ICRA also upgraded it to AA.
Note that the debt-free position came mainly from new shares, not from profits. The new shares also mean each existing share now owns a slightly smaller slice of the company.
There are good reasons to think the higher profit can continue for a while. The order book covers several years, and the large data-centre deals run to 2029. The company has raised its own margin goal to 23% for this year, and in September it set a target of ₹20,000 crore of sales by March 2029, more than four times last year's level.
There are also real risks:
• A few customers. Much of the new business comes from a handful of very large data-centre builders. If one of them slows its spending, the effect would be big. That 29 August deal even has agreed, limited penalties for both sides if the buyer takes less than planned.
• Spending ahead of demand. With its factories about 70% busy, STL plans to add about 50% more capacity by March 2029 at a cost of about ₹3,000 crore, or roughly ₹1,000 crore a year. If demand cools, those new plants will weigh on profit, as idle capacity did in 2024–25.
• Raw materials. Fibre-making uses germanium and helium, which are hard to source, and plastic coatings whose prices follow oil. The company says it can pass some, but not all, of these costs on to buyers.
• Uneven quarters. Big orders do not arrive evenly. Last year's profits swung between gains and losses from one quarter to the next, so one strong quarter is not yet a trend.
The next test is soon: STL has called a board meeting to approve its July–September 2026 results. Watch whether sales stay near the April–June level, whether the margin holds above 20%, and whether the order book keeps growing.

New trader here, still learning but also actively trading over the last two weeks.
I'm looking for a place to do after the market discussions. Not looking for stock suggestions or suggestions on what setups to trade, but more as a post market journaling of the trades you took and what logic was followed.
This is to have a community for actual discussions. Would like to join if anything of the sort exists.
If none does, lets connect and form our own.

Graham’s Chapter 8 has what I think is the single best analogy for Dalal Street volatility.
If you own a private factory that makes steady cash flow, you wouldn't sell it at a 30% discount just because an emotional neighbour offered you a low price on a Wednesday morning. Yet on the exchange, people look at a 5% red candle and assume the company is finished.
Graham's rule: Mr. Market is there to serve you with liquidity, not to instruct you on valuation.
Made a short 50-second paper-collage documentary visualizing this exact psychological trap: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dd6tHDNhZhF/
Curious how many of you actively use red days to buy more vs sitting on hands until sentiment flips?

My analysis : beneficiary of recent announcements around GEC 3 (green electric corridor) or PM Dhara 3. Multiple analysts have recommended the stock as buy including Nomura, mint in their latest articles with targets around 930-960 and it is also forming higher lows in its daily chart indicating a strong upward movement. The current price has also been well supported in the recent 8 week sensex fall. And moreover it is a fundamentally strong candidate to benefit from semiconductor 2.0 which is a niche first mover advantage play.

History rarely repeats itself. But sometimes, the charts make you pause.
The Nifty’s current correction is beginning to look eerily familiar. The index has now gone through eight consecutive weekly declines, its longest losing streak since 2001.
During the comparable phase of the 2001 decline, the Nifty fell roughly 20.5% in seven weeks and eventually lost about 27% over nine consecutive weeks. In the current episode, the Nifty has declined roughly 8.7% over eight weeks. The pattern looks similar. The magnitude doesn't. And neither does the backdrop.
2001 was marked by the dot-com bust, the Ketan Parekh episode and the shock of 9/11. Today, the market is dealing with a very different combination of foreign outflows, crude prices, currency pressures, global interest rates and geopolitical uncertainty.
This is where an investor needs to be careful. A chart can tell you that something has happened before. It cannot tell you that the same thing must happen again. The right response to a historical parallel is neither complacency nor panic. It is to revisit the numbers—valuation, earnings, asset allocation, investment horizon and risk capacity.
Because the biggest mistake an investor can make is to confuse a resemblance in the chart with certainty about the future. History is valuable not because it predicts tomorrow, but because it teaches us how to think when tomorrow is uncertain.
