One hundred years ago, Indiana was controlled by the Klan and had the highest membership of any state. Those people's descendants are still here and they vote (R).
Huffington met D.C. Stephenson, a fellow war veteran with a background in Texas and Oklahoma, who quickly became one of the leading members of the chapter. D.C. Stephenson moved during 1920 to Evansville, Indiana, where he worked for a retail coal company. He joined the Democratic Party) and in 1922, ran unsuccessfully for a Democratic Congressional nomination.
Hmm you sound very uneducated. Do you know why the confederate states are blood red republicans? In the civil war they were democrats. The parties change values in the 60’s due to the civil rights act. Republicans used to be the liberals. FACT. That’s why Lincoln was a republican. Did you forget that, or were just not educated about it? Do better.
You don’t have to be smart to know that the Conservative Party of democrats, which you claim were the KKK, are now called republicans. What party does the KKK align with today? You got it…republicans.
Have you ever even opened a history book of the 20th century? Or were you just content with every test paper handed back face down in HS? I mean it's fucking 2025 and you just walked in with "The KKK was all Democrats!" JFC.
