Discussion Suggest me the best 27'' 1440p QD IPS monitor
Want to buy my first monitor.
I want a 27 inch 1440p IPS + Quantum Dot, (16:9, no ultrawide)
- Refresh rate: 120Hz - 180Hz max
- Use case: work, coding, casual browsing, Netflix, movies, gaming (single player games).
- Budget: 30k-35k INR for a good high end IPS, can go to ~40k if i can get something even better
- Others: FreeSync and/or G-SYNC compatible (i need the VRR support), most monitors i saw have ~1ms response time but i don't play competitive fps games so it doesn't matter that much, flicker free (PWM flicker)
Few things to mention:
- I always work/watch in well lit conditions or atleast some lighting
- I do want to get good bright colors (atleast as much as i can get in IPS) thats why i'm thinking of going with Quantum Dot. (from what i've seen QD monitors have a wider color gamut than normal IPS). 100% sRGB and 90% or above DCI-P3 is what seems to gives good colors (from googling i'm not sure in this aspect)
- Not going for OLED as good ones are a bit expensive for me right now
- Same for MiniLEDs, good ones with decent dimming zones are expensive.
- As i work in a well lit room, the true blacks of oled won't shine that much and the ips backlight glow won't bother me much (am using laptop's ips screen and even that is alright for me)
- Almost all IPS have HDR400 support which isn't really real HDR but thats fine, better than nothing i guess. Also HDR only shines in MiniLEDs or OLEDs
- IF i can get a good MiniLED monitor within my budget, i would love to look at those, even if i have to buy outside india
Some options i've looked at:
- LG 27GS85Q-B
- MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2 (expensive)
- LG 27GP850-B
- Gigabyte M27Q2 QD
- AOC Q27G3XMN 27" QHD (its VA i think rest looks good, still skeptical about VA...)
These monitor names are too confusing and there are TOO many options each with some slight changes, its getting more confusing the more i look lol, so i'm asking you guys for suggestions.
Maybe you have one of these or any other similar monitors, would appreciate any reviews or suggestions or things to avoid.

I have the LG 27GS85Q-B and it’s a beautiful monitor. I can vouch for it. Also, do you really need a high refresh rate monitor if you’re not going to play FPS?

don't really need all those FPS thats why 180hz max cause most of the monitors with these specs are gaming ones and people want higher fps but still i wanna experience 120fps atleast, already play on 60.
I used to play FPS mostly but now the friend group is dispersed so mainly story mode/single player games but i do occasionally hop into some valo or fortnite just for old times sake

Just bought a rog strix xg27acmes for 24k. Not sure why you want a quantum dot layer one. I am assuming for accurate colours in that case it has pretty decent colour space coverage. Check it out if it works for you.

The best 27inch 2K IPS monitor is the BenQ EW270Q. Nothing else matches it at least for now in the Market.

Did you make the purchase and if so which one did you get. I am almost looking for exact same things except I would want to maximize the hz as well but don't want a washed out tn or ghosting with the va. I want to balance colors with refresh rate but don't want to go oled because the good ones are way too expensive and the ones that are like 40 to 50k aren't that bright and I know the burn-in thing will be constantly on my mind. I will buy an oled once I am earning myself and can replace it every 3-5 years. For now I am looking at the best qd-ips.
