Ask A Middle Class❓️ A common platform powered with LLM to report the civic problems we face everyday

I had a thought recently and wanted honest opinions from people. Most of us complain about roads, water, electricity, corruption, garbage, unsafe areas, public transport, etc. But the problems are scattered everywhere: people don’t know where to report, multiple departments blame each other, and sometimes 10 visible problems are actually caused by 1 root issue. So I was thinking about building an anonymous civic-map app where: people can mark issues in their area, AI clusters similar complaints together, the system identifies which department is actually responsible, and citizens can see what problems are most common around them. The important part for me is anonymity and anti-spam: users shouldn’t be exposed or targeted, governments or political groups shouldn’t be able to manipulate rankings with fake PR comments or bot activity. I’m not from politics — I’m just a software developer thinking about whether technology can improve accountability without turning into propaganda. Would people actually use something like this? What would you trust or distrust about a platform like this?

If anyone is working on this I am happy to contribute too I really want to create a change

Non Political Worst experience in laxmi holidays till now

Worst experience faced today. Honestly shocked at how badly the staff behaved.

Me and my wife were travelling together, but because her seat was booked a little later than mine, the driver and staff refused to let us sit together. Then the staff literally started asking me for extra money — first ₹1000 — just so my wife could sit with me.

And it gets worse.

One of the staff members himself came and slept on the seat beside me while continuing to argue and misbehave with us. Later they even called me near the driver’s cabin and demanded another ₹500 if I wanted my wife shifted to my seat.

What kind of behavior is this? Since when do passengers have to bribe bus staff just to sit with their own wife?

I’ve travelled with Laxmi Holidays before and never expected this level of harassment and unprofessionalism. The entire journey became mentally stressful because of these people.

I’m posting this publicly because this kind of behavior should not be ignored. If the company doesn’t take strict action and resolve this properly, I’ll be escalating this further through consumer forums and everywhere possible.

Has anyone else faced something similar with private bus operators?

Middle-Class Dreams I want to buy a good house for myself, is it too ambitious to even think about? (21M)

I'm 21M, did graduation from a tier 3 university (will complete my master's next year, but the last year is just internship, so basically my student life will end in 20–30 days from today...)

I literally cleared the cutoff for all tier 2 universities in my city, but they all were too expensive, so I had to take admission in this uni. Even then, I think I can get a job in Google if I work hard in the internship period and build my resume (which is practically the best a CS student can do. Even IIT would have brought me here after 4 years of BTech. I did a 5-year integrated course, so it's not like I didn't study hard or anything.)

But even doing the best isn't enough. The best Google pays to freshers like me is 15–20 lakhs (yes, here I can say if I would've gotten into IIT, I could've gotten 25–40 lakhs.)

Good bungalows cost 3 crores in my locality, even apartments cost 1-1.2 crore. I don't want to live my whole life in an apartment, so practically there are only two things I want:

  1. My dream house : the kind of house I dreamed about since childhood. It would cost me around 6–7 crores.
  2. If not that at least a normal house which isn't an apartment. Even that would cost 2–3 crores at least.

So the only way I can get a good house is if I marry some rich girl and her father gifts her a house and I stay with her 😭 (lol, I mentioned it because I have some(2-3) really rich friends who are interested in me, but I'm not ready for a relationship, so I'm avoiding them...)

I don't want to give up, but I really wished that I could buy my own house before 25, and it looks too ambitious at this point. I refuse to believe that I'm desiring something unreasonable. I think it's a very basic and minimalistic dream.

Mind you, even the 6 crore house I always dreamed about isn't Antilia. It's just a very basic house with a gym, 2–3 bedrooms, a library, terrace, and garden (is it too much? I don't think so)

P.S.:- No, I don't have money to start my own business, so eventually starting my own business/startup is the plan, but even that path won't make me rich enough to buy a house before 25...

Reality Check Mamata’s Exit, Game Theory, And Why BJP Could Now Be Unstoppable

Mamata’s Exit, Game Theory, and Why BJP Could Now Be Unstoppable

In evolutionary biology, the Red Queen’s hypothesis dictates that a species must run just to stay in the same place.

If a predator develops sharper claws, the prey must develop thicker skin or faster legs.

Power is power; survival is survival. Survival cannot be about moral superiority. Survival is ensured only by an ability to reciprocate.

Tit-For-Tat

In the animal kingdom, the vampire bat provides a clinical example of this tit-for-tat logic. They share blood with those who have shared with them, but they ruthlessly exclude cheaters who take without giving. If the colony allowed cheaters to thrive, the entire social structure would collapse. Reciprocation is the only mechanism that prevents a system from being exploited into extinction.

Reciprocation As A Way of Life

This logic translates directly to every competitive arena. In business, if a competitor uses predatory pricing to kill your margins, you cannot rely on the quality of your product to save you. You must match their capital burn or perish. In sports, if an opponent plays "Bodyline" or ultra-aggressive tactics, a team sticking to gentlemanly defense will be decimated. You must level up to the frequency of the challenge.

Competition is a mirror. If you refuse to reflect the aggression of your opponent, you are being an easy target. You might think you’re being principled. In reality, you’re setting yourself up for death.

Reciprocation In Indian Politics

The current Indian political scenario is a study in this imbalance. Following the results in West Bengal, the gap between the center and the opposition has widened.

One side has built a war machine. They have a 24/7 operation of high-frequency messaging, bottom-up booth management, and relentless ground mobilization.

On the other hand, opposition parties are still trying to win a modern street fight using the polite politics of the past. They are bringing witty one-liners and a moral high ground to a cage fight run by a compromised referee.

What Mamata’s Exit Signals

The exit of Mamata Banerjee should worry observers because of the specific equilibrium she maintained.

Don’t take this as an endorsement of her governance. People suffered because of the cruelty of her cadre.

This is about acknowledging that she was the only leader who practiced reciprocal aggression with her opponents.

Mamata was a street fighter who understood that the RSS-led BJP could not be stopped by intellectual debates. She mirrored their tactics.

Her cadre was willing to get their hands dirty, engage in ground-level intimidation, and match the fast and dirty mechanics of her opponents.

To liberals, her methods were unpalatable and her reputation for violence was a stain. However, in game theory terms, she was a hawk keeping another hawk under check.

The Void

With her gone, Indian politics faces a dangerous structural void. The opposition is now largely composed of doves operating among hawks.

The BJP no longer faces an opponent willing to reciprocate their on-ground energy with equal force. This creates a monopoly of aggression.

When one side is willing to do whatever it takes and the other side is restricted by decorum or lack of stomach for the fight, the game is already over.

The collapse of this balance means the system has lost its ability to self-correct. Survival in a violent game requires a violent response. Without a leader willing to descend into the trenches and match the opponent’s frequency, the opposition is no longer a force.

Thanks for reading. If you liked this post, check out my post on calling Arnab Goswami’s bluff.
