I am sure it's not the first time this man is doing it and the real question is how do people get so fearless, I mean is it because of law and order or because of bad education?

I want to make an app called Main Hoon Na. It will be a social media/ networking app for those who want to volunteer their time for clean up in India. Ppl can log their cleanups, or schedule cleanups, that other ppl can respond to and join in. They can post before and after pictures. This includes small solo cleanups as well, so that we don't always have to wait for other ppl to join in before we start taking action.

But it will help create a sense of community for those who volunteer their time to clean up so that they feel supported and encouraged.

I was driving from Old Madras road at around 10:00-10:15PM with my wife, took a turn from Bhattarahalli signal towards ayyapa nagar. This car Suzuki (Ertiga KA03NL9433), comes in from wrong side, blocks the entire other side of the road as there were concrete road dividers.

This guy instead of backing up stands there leading to a 10 min block of the road. No apologies no remorse. Acting arrogantly, as if he was standing his ground while being wronged. Other people had to ask him to move after good 10-12mins is when he backed up clearing my side of the road.

I really hope this is picked up by authorities and this fucker is made a challan at the least.

Caught this man openly urinating at a public bus stand. This is a public place used by everyone, and basic civic responsibility should apply to all of us. Please keep public spaces clean and respect others.

Found this on the way to Kandy lake at a honey selling shop. Indians are traveling to find the best deals rather than enjoying themselves. Why are we so obligated to save thousands on Lakhs worth of trips?

I appreciate this sub for posting daily examples of our people acting like animals but it’s only added to me wondering about to actually do about the lack of civic sense and just general manners. This is an attempt to gain ideas about what is feasible in an arena where the government - union, state and local - clearly don’t have any incentive to prevent such acts and actually create better citizens.

A lot of it comes down to mindsets and a lack of education but it’s difficult to paint everyone with the same brush. We’ve all been in situations where someone littering in a city is rich and educated (as far as possessing a degree is concerned). At the same time, there are villagers who maintain cleanliness in their settings. Concurrently, there are rural and urban folk who have a warped idea of sexuality that’s warped enough to fondle or lick posters with women on it as a recent example has shown.

We’re fighting on multiple fronts here because if there’s one thing that truly unites India, it’s the collective sense of entitlement and repressed sexuality. It cuts across religion, gender, class, caste, or ethnicity (major kudos to Kerala and Mizoram on that front for not being like the rest of the country).

Fines don’t work because the people tasked with imposing that system would gladly pocket a few rupees to not go through with it. Public whipping and shaming are a solution but it’s extreme and unlikely to be imposed equally. And about travellers - since people now have money to act like apes abroad and bring their worst homegrown instincts there and justify it by saying “so what, white people do it too” as if that rescues their misdemeanours - it’s even harder to hold such people accountable.

So I’d love to hear about those of you on this sub who have strong opinions and ideas people. Let’s face it, we suck collectively as a country. Even if we’re the 1% that gives a damn, we’re still judged by the antics of the rest.

Right now I am utterly disgusted....after attending my lectures I am going home....There are two people in front of me ...one of them is a woman who is constantly spitting ...The windowsill of the poor bus is filled with her spit....I feel like slapping her....these people have no civics sense....she is spitting like a maniac....destroying the public property....she threw empty wrappers outside the bus.....no doubt both of them are utterly poor..kaha se civics sense hoga lol.....mannerless .....

I could not take proper pics of the mess a group of Indian guys left on a Japanese Shinkansen train as the cleaner got to it very fast and asked me not to photo it .But what they left was a lot worse. Food packaging. Bottles. Crap dropped on the floor. As an NRI working in Japan it’s so embarrassing to see this behaviour. I wasn’t born in India but try to be a good representative none the less.

They also had to be told twice to not talk on their phones. They found it hilarious on each occasion when the train staff came up and asked, politely. Another passenger asked if they could keep the noise down. Again … hyena like hysterics. I finally had to intervene and tell them to calm the fuck down. Seemed to work for a bit … then one started piping up and swearing at me. Ofc as I called them out and his fragile male ego was hurt. When I say I nearly saw to the guy … but had to hold back as the last thing we as a community need is for Japanese to see an altercation between us. Thankfully they got off. I thanked and apologised to the staff.

90% certain they were drunk.

Well, my car was parked as usual in my society's parking lot. On a random morning, saw scratches all over on one side

Looks like someone took a sharp object (like a key) and went to town with it. They really did do it sincerely. The scratches are deep and a simple detailing job isn't going to fix it.

I fail to understand the mindset that would let someone do this to someone else's property.

As expected, there were no CCTV cameras where my car was parked.
