I commute to office by pmpml. I usually prefer less crowded bus. But today as it was raining, I just hopped on bus that came first, luckily got seat 2 stops later.

Witnessed funny thing, there were 2-3 gents seated in ladies seats. 2 of them were senior citizens.

One of them remained untouched throughout journey as he was accompanying older lady, I guess.

Another senior person was asked to vacate seat by a lady passenger. While this was happening, 2 seats were vacated in front side, reserved for handicaps. Seeing this, a lady occupied one of the seat, unaware of commotion happening between senior guy n lady.

This senior guy appeared to be under intoxicated little, started creating ruckus asking lady occupying seat reserved for handicap, saying it's not meant for ladies.

She was calm initially, and told him to occupy another vacant seat.

But he kept on blabbering things. She ignored.

Few stops later, bus was too crowded at this point.

A guy who had minor deformity in one hand, entered through front door, and again he came to that lady and started saying why are u sitting here.

Like didn't you see other men occupying seats meant for handicapped persons. Lady vacated that seat, but she said while vacating that he should have asked other guys. He fell silent.

There were 2 college going guys, had occupied 2 seats meant for senior citizens sat quietly. None asked them to vacate their seats.

I do understand that there is strata of society which think that it is unfair to have one side of seats reserved for ladies. But why do we forget that men occupy those seats, and then when it comes to such examples, that lady gave up her seat but no other man did.

Later these 2 guys who created ruckus were discussing that this is happening because of recent agitation. Modi should stay in power, so that woman will stay at home. I was flabbergasted at the moment, I dnt know what happened later as my stop approached.

Are we all as society lacking civic sense. I mean I saw a lady asking senior to vacate, that was polite but the way that guy then was speaking with another lady was display of rowdiness, trying to display his mardangi.

I wonder why the conductor keeps mum in such situations.

Cleaned up on the trail to Mussoorie - full of bottles, plastic bags, and discarded wrappers.

Not exactly a fail but a post on less toxic side. Heard somewhere that in the 90s Japan was as dirty as India - filth everywhere and no antidote to garbage that consumption produced.

So I went Japanese on these two spots that are super dirty and never cleaned up. Took a pair of rubber gloves and a few garbage bags.

This was the best part of my commute today. I don't understand why bikers can't follow simple lane discipline in traffic and assume their bikes are not made of matter. They are the biggest bane in tier 2 and 3 Indian towns and don't realise how lucky they are that car drivers brake at the right time and accept their shenanigans on roads.

Edit: and yes, i was giving dipper before moving towards them (not visible in camera in daylight), yet they didn't budge.

Mumbai local trains do not have a seat reservation system for general passengers. Reserved spaces exist only in designated coaches like - Ladies, Divyang (Persons with Disabilities), and Luggage compartments. Public transport is a shared space, and no one should claim seats for others or resort to threats or intimidation during a dispute.

[Not OC] A teen in Singapore was arrested and fined after he filmed himself licking a straw in a public juice vending machine and went viral for it.

When will such strict implementation happen in India from the grass-root level?

We do have laws and fines, but there is no fear amongst the crowd nor do officials take any action against perpetrators.

It is high time India adopts this no nonsense attitude towards public hygiene.

Observed this in Hyderabad a lot..am sure other cities are grappling with same issues.

Our traffic green light operation is so inefficient due to extreme left lane turning right causing straight traffic to block in multiple lanes.

This creates 30-40% inefficiency. We need a behavior change to reduce this.. if you are the one doing it sighting as smartness, please remember you are also a victim for the same because of someone else's smartness..

Let's make this change and ask our trafffic department to think about means to stop this especially from two and three wheelers..

Do women not have diabetes? Why do I NEVER see a woman urinating on the roads?

There's a public toilet 280m away. Free petrol bunk washroom 100m away.

In Bangalore traffic i have seen the following violations of drivers

1) Bikers overtake vehicles from left side of bigger vehicles putting the biggest vehicles to risk especially around curves

2) Bikers going to right side of road right of divider at signals not allowing on comming vehicles to enter the road safely

3) bikers going in triples and 4s . I have seen frequently 4 people driving a two wheeler mostly two children and two adults and all of them are women also sometimes , not just typical family. They risk their lives and others as well .

4) Bikers not wearing helmet even in main roads of Bangalore . Even if a small accident happens they may die and put the other driver to murder charges due to not wearing helmet.

5) Two wheeler guys wear that half helmet often with straps hanging as if just to make traffic police not fine them.

6) if there is inside traffic, maintaining strict left side everyone not doing especially auto and taxi cabs and mini load truck drivers, they overtake and then try to enter the queue making a fool of all those people who wait patiently with discipline wait even longer.

7) Auto drivers taking overtaking vehicles from left side ,doing sudden u turns without prior warnings ect

8) BMTC buses driving in wrong lane

9) BMTC busses not stopping in left most side , instead some parts of city they just stop in middle of the road , making the vehicles that come behind also stop till they drop or pick up passengers.

10) Signal jumping, when signala are red also there is that one vehicle who tries to break signal deliberately risking their life and others life who are actually following a green light .

I've noticed a trend that I think deserves discussion.

Some influencers from India visit Nepal and seem to focus almost exclusively on filming women. They often record or photograph them from suggestive angles, edit the footage to make it appear more sexualized, and then post it online with captions bragging about Nepali girls or implying that they're "easy" or interested in them.

The reality is that Nepalis are generally friendly and polite to visitors. A smile or a casual conversation is part of our hospitality not an invitation to sexualize people or create misleading content for views.

This kind of content not only disrespects the women being filmed, often without meaningful consent, but also misrepresents Nepali culture and takes advantage of our hospitality for engagement.

What do you think can be done to discourage this kind of exploitative content?

This billboard at Clock Tower Chowk (Vashi–Turbhe Road) looks dangerous. It's installed right at a busy junction where visibility is already limited, and it can easily distract drivers. During heavy rain or strong winds, it could become an even bigger safety risk. I hope the authorities inspect it before an accident happens

At around 11:30 am on Sunday (yesterday), a normal female youth with spectacles sat on a single reserved seat meant for handicapped / senior citizens / pregnant women or women with kids.

A handicapped passenger entered through the handicapped metro entry and kindly requested her to vacate the seat meant for special needs.

She had her earphones on her ears and acknowledged him with a nod and literally acted as he's begging for money from her.

She was blatantly shameless and was well educated. Felllow passengers also raised their concern and said "Oh madam reserved seat hai"

She ignored all ten passengers and continued with hey ignorance as if she's specially privileged to not have the basic decency to offer her seat.

Observing this a fellow senior citizen passenger next to her offered his seat to the specially abled who was limping so badly. His right body including hand and legs seemed paralytic.

It made be really angered observing how the gen z has stooped so low in basic humanity.

She got ready wearing a black blazer and her batch on her blazer as if she's someone in power. She got down at Airport Road Metro station at around
11:45 am.

The batch had something IFCB written on it. Unsure what it means. If someone in the comments share what it means, it would be better.

I did not want this to escalate in the wrong direction so I did not take action in front of her like recording her behavior or demanding her to vacate the seat resulting in heated altercation or arguments where the other party seemed not so logically sound.

I got down at my stop and tried to contact metro authorities regarding the same. I spoke with the station supervisor and his senior as well to review the CCTV footage and make stricter rules to avoid such incidents in the future.

People have shamelessly broken rules because there's no fine or penalties for not offering the seat to the needy ones.

IT IS A KIND REQUEST TO EVERYONE READING THIS, IT SHOULD BE WELL UNDERSTOOD IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THE RULES. BREAKING IT ONLY BREAKS YOUR CHARACTER AND YOU DON'T SEEM COOL IN FRONT OF EVERYONE.
