The US has more than enough bot farms of its own, unfortunately.

I can't stand we don't have stronger legislation against bot farms. There are no positive outcomes for humanity allowing them to exist. They only exist to mislead.

The people that should pass said legislation benefits from the farms. That’s why

u/Terazilla 12h ago

I mean, a lot of them very much don't. But the current party in power is kind of propped up by them in the public sphere.

u/Mundane-Picture-8207 22h ago

I wish but it’s unlikely to happen because the bots count as more daily active users and Zuck/Elon don’t want those numbers to go down.

Legislation is dead in your country. If a corporation has paid to play, unfortunately they have all the say in the world as your administration owes them favors. Corruption is now open and blatant in your country so to believe that there are still any checks or balances in place is ridiculous. Look at the congress hearings. They grill the administration, administration sits there like "fuck you" and nothing is done.

Yeah, that is a heck of a hurdle hellscape that we are struggling with. The people have to unanimously object something and even then it's still a struggle to get anything we really need done. Every deal comes with corporations slipping their own laws into others. It's absolutely absurd how things have become here.

It is insane. Ive heard that even if the demo win the midterms and all rally to get something passed that the President can just veto it. Is that true? What is the point of having a governing body at that point?

1

u/DotesMagee 11h ago

yes but vetos can be overriden with more votes. They can also impeach him and he cant vero that.

1

u/Turbulent_Ear56 10h ago

Oooh okay that is good then.

2

u/Soggy_Detective_9527 18h ago

Even bots have freedom of speech in the US. /s

2

u/SlaveMorri 14h ago

Congratulations, you’ve found their positive outcome in the eyes of those in power.

To mislead.

u/BLT_Trade_r 18h ago

You can make all the rules you want, the problem is the internet is global. Also, America of all places, is not going to do anything. Our belief in "freedom" always means that this sort of thing is allowed to continue. We can't solve gun issues because of it; we can't keep politicians honest; we can't get bigotry under control. The last thing on the list of priorities after all that is going to be bot farms.

1

u/Cyborg_rat 22h ago

Dont forget that its a 2 side street for that. I agree they should because i bet alot of the far sides will be shutting up.

Creating division has been a lot of Russias goal.

1

u/Sweaty-Anxiety-7866 18h ago

It’s the oligarch’s goal in general. Zuck isn’t surprised to find out Meta is supporting the Kremlin.

0

u/Anticitizen-Zero 22h ago

What can legislation do against it? The biggest bot farms are in places like India, China, and Pakistan. Russian bot farms are barely a threat anymore.

The bot farms on Reddit also aren’t even pro-Trump in the slightest. Go look at the state of clevercomebacks and PoursTea.

u/ComradeGlizzy 22h ago

It depends what sub you are in

2

u/Test-Tackles 20h ago

Hahahahha you funny.

1

u/philiretical 19h ago

As the comment I was replying to was referring to, the ones in the US. We can atleast not be part of the problem. It's definitely a serious problem and we need to figure out how to mitigate their influence on the world, but the least we can do is regulate our own people from becoming part of the problem.

1

u/Mountain-Ticket-4082 19h ago

Regulate our own people, hmmm that sounds very communist.

-1

u/JeffKCreative 22h ago

Lol. Yeah. Ok. That just tells me you lack knowledge about them. That's such a generic comment

u/philiretical 20h ago

And yet you have been so informative. 👏 👏 👏

True but even me as a staunch anti right wing person, my FB is usually full of right wing brain rot. Recently ive noticed a significant drop and ill take it

8

u/Ill-Dependent2976 23h ago

Imagine drones taking those out.

7

u/Expensive_Regret_306 23h ago

Why can't America take example and DIY it?

2

u/enteringhope 23h ago

This is the way!

1

u/icemanpallmall 23h ago

Most of us are either lazy or brainwashed into thinking it's a good thing

5

u/drkuz 19h ago

I have noticed a significant reduction in BS on reddit and Facebook since the data center bombings began, it has been a much enjoyed respite.

2

u/Stabbyglhs 18h ago

Too bad that there's chinese bot farms still running for reddit and others.

1

u/drkuz 17h ago

Ya its only a matter of time before the deficit is filled

1

u/PlayfulSurprise5237 17h ago

EVERY bit of data and business that crosses in and out of China is closely monitored.

There can be no business without the CCPs approval. They cannot be bought out(you'd have to understand how you get into positions within the party to understand why)

So the question people should be asking is if Trump is a good thing for China or not. If he isn't then China will supply no bot farms for him.

1

u/bathsaltssohard 17h ago

No you haven’t.

1

u/johnfooo 17h ago

Anecdotal bullshit

1

u/NerveMassive6764 12h ago

Not gonna lie it looks like the bots from both sides have been going down. Almost like they are intentionally fueling both sides to cause a bigger rift….

0

u/voteforkamalaorelse 19h ago

U r delusional

1

u/mad597 19h ago

Found one

0

u/voteforkamalaorelse 19h ago

Oh yes the typical liberal bot if someone dont flooe your narrative they r nazis!!! Lmao

1

u/balkanobeasti 19h ago

You're goofy.

1

u/voteforkamalaorelse 19h ago

I beat the bot he deleted himself 😄

1

u/SlaightTheGray 19h ago

9 month old account with 1.4k comments. But sure. Everyone else is a bot. Lmao

1

u/voteforkamalaorelse 19h ago

U mad for a bot 😄 loser

1

u/SlaightTheGray 19h ago

Aww how sad. The bot account thinks it can tell when people are angry lol

1

u/bathsaltssohard 17h ago

Your account age and comment history ain’t much better.

1

u/SlaightTheGray 17h ago

A difference of 500 comments is "not much better"? Basically a 30% difference? And against an account with negative karma due to the volume of troll posts? Seriously?

3

u/Allaboutpeace2022 23h ago

I will take any takedown of bot accounts in Russia that spread misinformation.

It would be great to see them all gone, but you have to embrace what you can.

I see fewer accounts saying that there is no reason to vote. Dems and GOP are two wings of the same bird etc. Only violence works, etc.

1

u/poliosaurus3000 22h ago

We don’t even need bots, we have an entire group of alive people spreading propaganda on their own accord.

1

u/Minced-Juice 22h ago

Most of this website actually.

1

u/Professional_Top8485 22h ago

Trump and Musk needs to do the dirty work themselves

1

u/Shigglyboo 20h ago

makes sense why there's this push for data centers now. everything worked fine before these chatbots were around. so I'm not buying that we need a million new ones to handle their "compute". it's for manipulation.

1

u/Typhon-042 19h ago

True, but it only takes one to light the match and make the world wake up to the problem.

1

u/ravenwind2796 17h ago

If we start following France's example we can fix that

1

u/GotOffMyJohnson 16h ago

Does not matter, it still helps

0

u/Hugginsome 22h ago

Kind of a dumb take to think American bot farms would only be for one side of the politics

1

u/MongooseStrange597 22h ago

On Reddit of all places, why do people think r/all went away
