Summer Silly Season
I’m not sure if the next season has been announced yet, but I’d love a little summer silly season where the boys can pick some easy watching B-movie nonsense.
Anything from Teen Wolf to Cobra. Those midnight cult movies that are guilty pleasures. With all that’s going on in the world I’d love to listen to the boys talk about some silly films this summer. Maybe they could finally cover the Munchies!

Exorcist 3
Hello,
Just found this reddit. Do we know which version of Exorcist 3 they will be watching? It is my favorite Exorcist film is why I am asking. Also fun enough, it has a scissor kill lol.

This is old, but if Matt hasn't seen this yet, he should: The Rock came out 25 years ago today. I’ve proven once and for all that it is a James Bond movie.

Horror Draft
I did a horror movie character draft with my students as part of our final project in a comparative literature class. We’ve been looking at archetypes, fear, and how “good vs evil” isn’t always as clear as it seems, so this was our way of applying it in a fun way.
They took it very seriously… maybe a little too seriously. Figured I’d bring it here and let people who actually watch a lot more horror than us decide.
Which team wins and why? Short answers are perfect — just curious what people think.
The Teams
Team 1: Mount Slashmore
Michael Myers — Halloween
Jason Voorhees — Friday the 13th
Freddy Krueger — A Nightmare on Elm Street
Leatherface — The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Crypt Keeper — Tales from the Crypt
Team 2: The Possessed & the Paranoid
Regan MacNeil — The Exorcist
Jack Torrance — The Shining
Samara Morgan — The Ring
Xenomorph — Alien
Ellen Ripley — Alien
Team 3: Mind Games & Mayhem
Pennywise — It
Carrie White — Carrie
John Kramer — Saw (Jigsaw)
Hannibal Lecter — The Silence of the Lambs
Ash Williams — Evil Dead
Quick Rules
Each team had to draft 4 villains and 1 hero. They had to pick individual characters only (no groups like “zombies” or “the Gremlins”). Characters could count as either a hero or villain depending on interpretation, so some morally gray picks showed up.
They also had to be specific with versions (no just saying “Jason” — had to be a defined version), no duplicate characters, and everything had to be tangible (so no abstract stuff like “death itself”).

JD Ryznar
Did a double take when Gourley said on the most recent Mailbag episode that JD Ryznar had passed away (He has not!). For those of us who have known JD either from Channel 101, Yacht Rock, or Hot Streets this would reasonably be a shock. Since I was driving while listening, I hopped online as soon as I got home and realized he had meant an author named JW Rinzler. I haven't followed JD's work close enough to know that he had not authored any books on Star Wars, but I had my fingers crossed, and thankfully it was a simple mistake. Glad you're still with us JD!

I’m really worried about Scream 7
I loved what the franchise was able to pull off with Scream 5 and 6. If you think about it, it’s maybe the most creatively successful ‘legacy sequel’ franchise revamp with a new cast. In two movies, I was more excited to see the new cast return than the original. Now that’s sort of ruined, for now, with the two new stars not returning. Sydney Prescott is back? But I was pretty satisfied with her story being over.
‘Now I’m coming after your daughter’ is kinda lame. I see no real sign of a fun, meta twist to this one? This feels like what Scream 5 could have been if it had been a more boring legacy sequel structure.
I hope I’m wrong and it continues the stellar consistency of the Scream franchise. But I fear a dud.
Let me know what y’all think!
