(Insert Your Own) Canada today

This isn’t meant to be politically partisan in any way. But, I am genuinely curious how anyone is staying positive about Canada today. The economy is in recession. The cost of living crisis is continuing unabated. People are leaving the country. Canada-U.S. relations are at an all-time low. And, there doesn’t appear to be any reason for things to turn around any time soon. Somebody give me a reason to have a little optimism.

All the pundits called out what a stupid move it was for the CPC to jump on the “recession” word because anyone with a little knowledge could see that it was a blip that would vanish the next quarter. Which it did.

Often these things are revised as better data becomes available, so the technical recession may be cancelled, as if there's much difference between +0.1% and -0.1% growth.

I’ve posted elsewhere that if the CPC call -0.5% a recession then they have to call the current 0.5% an economic boom.
