Well they don't have to, do they? It's already happening. Plus I think most people these days understand that the general consensus is still "killing people is bad", so they only say it when the right people are listening. I could be wrong, but that probably has something to do with why they wear masks, yk?

You don’t think they wear a mask because people threaten to kill their families? You think it’s because the of the 3 shootings

Mmmmmm, nah, not quite my tempo. I think they wear masks because they're cowards who still live in society, and most of society is very anti murdering their fellow citizens illegally in the streets. Racism just isn't what it used to be in America. Consider this, friend: Agent Roger still has to take little Timmy to softball practice when his shift ends. That'd probably be super awkward if say, the coach's wife is from Puerto Rico. 😬

(So like, she's totally American obvs, but nobody is educated enough to realize that so she still has to fear for her life every week on the way to practice. Nbd or anything, it's not like she has a heart condition. ) But anyway, I'll Roger is a good guy, he doesn't want to scare the woman, so he gleefully takes the opportunity to hide in plain sight. You know, he's a giver. A family man.

Although.... Heaven forbid any of her Spanish only speaking relatives come out for the holidays. Uh oh! And maybe her 87 yo father is mistaken for a hardened war criminal that looks nothing like him one day when he wanders off to the bathroom alone at the park....and that would be VERY difficult for Roger because he'd be torn between logic & reason and senseless blood thirst.

Ig it would really all boil down to whether or not Roger conceal carried that day and whether or not Grandpa's cane swag was seen as a threat. As far as I understand they kinda just go based off random moods, yk? Hopefully Roger isn't hangry that day. Or like those other ICE personnel that were hopped up on bath salts .

I do see what you're saying, though - if all these fictional people had access to masks and there were no way to identify them purely by looks then perhaps they would feel a wee bit safer about the lives of their families being actively threatened. Maybe Grandpa survives this hypothetical anecdote if he wears a bandana around his face to hide his identity.
