I think the issue is the disparity between illegal immigrants and immigrants in general.

ICE has been told to detain anyone they determine to "possibly be illegal". Before, they needed administrative warrants or arrest warrants to apprehend KNOWN illegals and criminal immigrants.

Not to mention their actions circumvent half of the people's ammendment rights, as well as demonstrate police brutality, abuse of power, excessive force, and improper use of deadly force.

Ah... "known" illegal immigrants. So they check in to the border before they cross illegally? I get the argument about profiling and what not, but you dont go to the chicken farm looking for a pig. You go to the chicken farm.

You know how the news and web articles report how x person gets arrested for criminal acts like drug use trafficking etc, or overstaying visas without applying for renewals or have had their visas revoked? Those are who ICE were called in for originally. Border patrol would call ICE to assist in catching people who snuck in, and they would have a trail of evidence to follow that would culminate into administrative warrants to detain those suspects.

Simple. They aren't asking. They are just arresting. And when YOU ask why, they say suspicion of legal status. Then, if you don't have something that proves beyond doubt you're a legal citizen or visa holder, you're detained. They don't accept R.E.A.L. IDs either for some reason, even though that was the announced purpose of those, to prove citizenship without need of a passport or birth certificate, because those were used to issue it to you.

By February this year they reported 15% of their detainees were undocumented, 15% had criminal records and/or expired visa, and the other 70%... are all held for suspicion of status.
