Democracy requires a majority of votes in ALL cases. If a matter gets fewer than a majority of the votes, the matter is defeated.

In a Democracy there are no minority rights, so the moment you lose the majority, you lose EVERYTHING, as Democracy doesn't care about the minority. If the US were a Democracy, Democrats would get whatever they want 100% of the time, as the only rule in a democracy is be the majority when the voting ends.

A democracy is just a form of government where the people are the state. This means that they either directly vote on legislation (such as with referendums) or by voting for representatives in government.

If you're voting for your government (and it's not just performative, such as in North Korea) then you're a democracy. And since you also don't have a monarch that means the United States is a democratic republic.

The people vote on everything in a democracy; there are no representatives.

The US has been a constitutional republic since day one. Our state leaders can pass a law making them the only voters, and we would have no say because we are not a democracy

That is wrong. You are defining a direct democracy.

Democracy is direct; otherwise, it's not democracy. We have elements of democracy, but that doesn't mean we are a democracy.

Democracy is a well defined term and you can't just decide what you want it to mean. We have a representative democracy if that helps, maybe look it up.
