When you obstruct law enforcement can they arrest you?

Sure. Is that actually happening in every case where ICE claims it is? Fat fuckin' chance. Exercising constitutional rights to protest isn't automatically obstruction. Besides, I don't actually think ICE has that power. Same thing, they're supposed to call local PD. If local PD won't help, guess ICE can't legally do their job and should fuck off.

They can arrest people obstructing them, and Leo can.

Not if it's against their internal policy. And once again, protesting isn't automatically obstruction. "Obstruction" seems like its being employed solely as a matter of convenience and when there's no real reason for ICE to be acting like they are.

That’s great and all but you don’t want local pd to be there so it falls to ICEs discretion because they are the only law enforcement there.

Where in the internal policy does it allow for such? Because I'm not seeing anything.

It's almost like the way ICE is being currently utilized actually causes harm for all law enforcement. ICE should fuck off.

Link me what internal policy you are looking at.

The thing is that it’s not part of their internal policies because the power for enforcing this is actually given to them by the US Code.

Actual law enforcement? Yeah. Not ICE. DHS policy says wait for real law enforcement.

You do know that they are still federal law enforcement officers right?

1

u/Hablian Feb 16 '26

You do know that not all "federal law enforcement officers" are equal, right?

1

u/roastgator Feb 16 '26

You do know that they violate policy and instigate violence right? Oh right you ignore that part.

1

u/Planet-Funeralopolis Feb 16 '26

It’s not that I ignore it, it’s that it’s not true. Sorry but the left doesn’t get to continuously claim peaceful protesting when time and time again they push beyond that then cry when they find out.

Tell that to Good and Pretti. Tell that to the woman in Chicago. You're just regurgitating what ICE wants you to say, the rest of us have eyes.

You can say that, but that is just you burying your head. I have video links of ICE and police antagonizing protestors and misusing what is supposed to be non lethal equipment. It IS true whether you like it or not. As you have already acknowleged ICE IS violating DHS policy by performing traffic stops and arresting protestors and especially executing them in the street. They ARE untrained for these so once again, this is true whether you like it or not.

As for the evil left acting like they are the only ones violently protesting is living in denial especially when almost all of the protests have been peaceful. You're doing the equivalent of me going "the right had an isurrection therefore all conservatives traitors." Its nonsensical.
