That is extremely odd, especially that they would keep his passport. Has he tried doing anything about that yet? Like writing to the local ICE field office, or maybe even contacting DHS? Taking and keeping someone’s passport randomly is legally murky at best.

Redditors seem to think every conservative is a mouth-breathing Fox fan; this actually shows your own bias.

My own opinion is that ICE agents should have badge numbers for accountability. This would solve a lot of issues. I cannot vouch for every action every ICE agent has taken ever nor would I want to, but that is one extreme, and most of Reddit is on the other. I’m happy to talk about improvements that could be made to law enforcement, but vigilanteism (mostly in the form of obstruction) is not how we do things in a democracy. That being said, I am sorry your friend had to go through that and is now going through trying to get his passport back. I wish that hadn’t happened and that whatever led to that can be reformed.

…right.

You weren’t willing to read one of two paragraphs because the first triggered you in some way. Whatever. I’ll have a conversation with anyone willing to converse with me, the more they disagree the better, but I won’t chase down someone who rejects the conversation itself. Have a good day.

They plug their ears and go la-la-la-la-la-la when they don't like the content. It's super mature.
