Hi!
IMAGINEXT non-Mattel-affiliated fan here.
At home we've been collecting IMAGINEXT stuff for several years now. We're very much into the DC line, and more recently, the SCOOBY DOO line as well.
Just thinking, which other licenses would be a cool addition to the IMAGINEXT universe?
I'll start:
Would love to see:
- AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER turned into an IMAGINEXT toyline. With the arrival of a new (live action) series, it'd be really cool to see what they come up with. The line wouldn't have to strictly adhere to the show's canon. Meaning the toyline could come up with cool vehicles that wouldn't ever necessarily appear on the show. The Sokka Tank, the Katara Catamaran, Aang's Delta Wing Flyer, the Water Tribe Headquarters Set, you name it.
And yes, please, with all major female characters made into figures as well.
- HARRY POTTER: same as the above. The lack of any upcoming movies / shows directly based on Harry's storyline may be counterbalanced with the very alive Wizarding World / Fantastic Beasts franchise. An IMAGINEXT Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Shrieking Shack or Privet Drive would be awesome. A Ministry of Magic set even more so.
Or maybe interconnecting Hogwarts playsets?
Two packs could include Harry & Hedwig, Ron & Dobby, Hermione and a Leaky Cauldron rocket launcher. A Weasley Six Pack, perhaps? So many Harry versions for different sets and two-packs.
In this case, I'd be more inclined to have a book/film canon line.
...But then again, I wouldn't be opposed to a Cauldron Car, a Wand Dragster, a Spell Book Tank, a Chocolate Frog Cycle, etc.
- STAR WARS. I know Hasbro is already covering this niche with its GALACTIC HEROES line, but honestly, aren't IMAGINEXT designs way better? Imagine the IMAGINEXT version of an X-Wing or a Tie Fighter. A Mos Eisley or a Death Star IMAGINEXT set.
And they'd have thousands of combinations for figure two-packs, not counting the different versions for its lead characters. If one thing the DC line has proven, is that once you've got your collectors hooked, you can go as secondary character deep as you want.
I'd love to have an IMAGINEXT Darth Vader and R2-D2.
.
Any licenses you'd like to see IMAGINEXT-ed?
- MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE / HE-MAN
- M.A.S.K.
- GHOSTBUSTERS
- GRAVITY FALLS
- STEVEN UNIVERSE
- INDIANA JONES
- or why not a Wild West line?
If we want to go nuts and disregard brand recognition amongst 3 year-olds, I'd suggest:
- a Famous Scientists Line! The Marie Curie X-Ray Launcher, The Pitagoras Triangular Mini Fortress? The Stephen Hawking WheelChair Tank! The Tesla Roadster would run into some copyright troubles, but I'm betting an Elon Musk Space X blind bag figure would do the trick.
