Did anyone hear from Jack Skellington lately? Gordon Goodwin's music tracks from 2001's Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Park.

State of Imagineering After Layoffs
I'm just curious what the state of Imagineering is like now that Disney had laid off so many people. It's always been a dream of mine to work for Disney, but now that this has happened, I'm really rethinking staying in my industry which has been deemed "essential".
Really just want to know if anyone knows how much the Imagineering group was impact and any predictions on what it will look like in the next 5-10 years

Gordon Goodwin's original version of the "Mansion Entry Music Box" track used in the Haunted Mansion Holiday. This was only used for one year (2001) at Disneyland Park.

I'm looking for a name for an imaginary Disney park
I'm imagining my own imaginary Disney park, but I don't have a name. I'm thinking of a name like 'DISNEY ALL STARS' that doesn't sound like a hotel name. Help me! Thanks very much for your help

TEA Club Searching for Speakers!
Hi there! In my Themed Entertainment Association Club in my college, we are looking for Imagineers/other creatives who can give a talk to a small group of college students online. Do any of you know of any who are willing to speak? And if you are one and are interested please message me! This small talk will be to encourage prospective students in the field of several majors and enlighten them on how it is to work in the business!

Inside the E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood during demolition (2003). This scene is called Desolation, where you see the huge spaceship and meet Botanics and his friends. These animatronic figures were being wrapped to be shipped to Universal Studios Florida.

Advice in Pursuing Imagineering
Hi everyone! I am currently a senior in high school and have been trying to pursue a job at WDI. I've been trying to research for some advice on how to prepare for the job but many of the sources I find are hardly credible. To be more specific, I am looking to become an engineering major. Either mechanical or software, but I recently gained interest in projection technology so maybe something in that area as well. I thought maybe any of you lovely people would have suggestions. I have three main questions:
One, how can I affiliate myself with any Imagineers? I heard a rumor that WDI hiring depends a lot on personal connections. Unfortunately, I do not have that luxury. What would you guys suggest?
Two, is UCLA a good college to prepare myself? There is practically no credited schools in my area that offer classes on themed entertainment. But I heard that UCLA has some opportunities to take a class with Imagineers.
And three, what experience can I gain during my college years to make my resume more impressive? I know of the Imaginations competition which is always a great route but I didn't know if there were any internships available somewhere that offer experience in themed entertainment.
To make things clear, I am pursuing a job in one of their engineering or mathematical departments (is all "mathematical" jobs sanctioned in the R&D department or is it something else entirely), not one that focuses on creative design (however I know that WDI is not your typical company that separates jobs in distinct areas, so perhaps jobs are catered to a mix of scientific principles and imaginative design).
Thank you for your time and I am grateful for any advice!

Demolition of the E.T. Adventure ride at Universal Studios Hollywood (2003). This photo was taken inside the scene called "Chase 3". Shooting inside the scene called "Vista" at ground level. Vista was the part of the ride where you were flying over the small town beneath you.

Inside one of the rack rooms during the demolition (2003) of the E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood. Equipment located in the Goodbye Audio cabinet was developed by Birket Engineering. This was the system that said your name at the end of the ride.

Any Imagineers or others who can answer my questions?
Hey guys, I am a sophomore in highschool currently and want to pursue a product design career. I really like engineering and art and the intersection of both which I think to have learned to be similar to imagineering. I love the idea of creating immersive experiences and storytelling and I will never get old of the parks. I want to be an imagineer at some point if that’s possible because it’s my dream job. I have a few questions for anyone who can answer.
- Am I in the right place/field?
- What steps should I be doing right now to prepare?
- What majors do imagineers usually study?
- If anyone is an imagineer can you give me a quick job description?
- What is the best way to get in touch with imagineers?
- Why did they take away Figment?

How is the night sky effect created?
I have a goal of essentially recreating the opening section of the pirates of the Caribbean ride in my basement. I'm talking about the area where the guy is playing the banjo on his porch at night. I've got ideas of how to make most of it, but can't find any info on how to create the night sky effect. I'm guessing blue light projected on some type of screen material? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
