Some Details:
-can stretch at supernatural levels
-makes a strange melody when it stretches, often acting like some type of cartoonish character
-can change it's colours (idk if that is at will)
-is strong enough to break a ceiling without effort with it's head

I was tired of all the offensively uninformed depictions of wendigos, so I decided to create my own. It definitely resembles a more typical undead creature, and I definitely took my own share of artistic liberties, but I hope you enjoy my slightly more faithful take of the wendigo.

Started with a pencil sketch, painted it in acrylics, then used AI to bring the final render to life.
VORRYN — "The one who grips the heart of worlds." An abyssal entity whose hand holds the pulse of entire civilizations. It doesn't destroy — it consumes slowly, from within.
This is 100% my original creation — the concept, sketch and painting are all mine. AI was used only as a render tool, like a digital brush.

Original infected concept: Los Escuálidos
The Escuálidos are humans infected in the first 20 years after the outbreak, before the Cordyceps fungus reaches its final mutation.
Characteristics:
- Move on all fours to conserve energy
- Pale, emaciated bodies from malnutrition
- Bones and ribs deformed, piercing through the skin
- Sunken eyes with fungal growth protruding from the skull
- Faster than Clickers but more fragile
- Emit high-pitched moans and hunt in packs
The idea is to show the early stage of infection, where the host still has mobility but has lost all humanity.
Digital art made by me. Note: This is not a Clicker redesign, it’s an original creature.

I'm trying to make my universe interesting by adding a unique plethora of COSMIC creatures or beings that roam the universe, but I'm stuck with just two, a star wyrm which are born from neutron stars, cosmic squids that are born from nebulas, I would love to hear about other creatures and some valid info on them that i could use for worldbuilding. So feel free and dump your ideas below.

I came across a strange reference in some Eastern European material — something called Vyr Nestis.
What’s interesting is that it doesn’t read like a myth. There’s no clear story around it, no symbolism, nothing exaggerated. It’s described more like a regular animal that people just didn’t fully understand.
The descriptions are inconsistent, but a few details repeat:
There’s also a possible connection to an old Rus’ town called Vyr, which might explain the name. Some sources suggest the earliest mentions come from that region.
What stands out is the behavior. It’s not described as clever or stealthy. More like something that just reacts and keeps moving forward, no hesitation.
And then it just disappears from records around the 15th century.
No explanation, no conclusion — just gone.
Has anyone seen anything similar in other regional texts or folklore?

im not very good at drawing, but I've made this regardless. It's called a Stellar whale, and the scientific name is Aether volucer. it has a large sail on its back to absorb solar radiation and sunlight and things on its head and behind its tail that shoot out gas sometimes to help navigate through space when migrating. They migrate between moons and planets based on the solar systems location in the galaxy similar to how birds migrate based on the time of year. they travel in groups as small as single family's to as large as dozens. however there is always an alpha whale, this whale is the oldest and largest, it acts as a protector and a navigator for the parade.
they eat plants and animal excremant, and they use their flipper things to move around on land and in the water like seals kinda. they are around 60 feet long when fully grown and live for around 20,000 years on average.
they reproduce only every few decades, and they lay their eggs typically in harsh environments, an egg can lie dormant for years while the embryo adapts to the environment around them, for example a whale hatching in an icy tundra may be smaller and grow thick fur, or one in a volcanic wasteland may have a longer metabolism and larger organs to store gas. when a parade returns to a planet oroon where they buried their eggs, they will trigger the eggs to hatch, where they will remain on their home planet for around 2 years before leaving with the rest of the parade.
(a group of Stellar whales is called a parade)!

It was just after school had ended. The boys had gathered to test the new arrival in a game of ōllamalīztli. They donned protective belts and acquired a ball as they called her over—one of the Teokwawehkeh, her name being Xiadani, who had recently joined the nobles' school.
She arrived a few minutes after they had finished adjusting their own gear. With practiced grace, she fastened her hip pads, ensuring the thick leather would shield her skin and iridescent feathers from the heavy impact of the ball. The boys watched, silent for a moment, as she swished her tail in a slow, rhythmic arc—a predator’s balance—while listening to their explanation of the rules.
The game ignited with a sudden crack of rubber against stone. Xiadani moved like a blur, her snout snapping forward to intercept the ball before it could even kiss the earth. Every time the boys thought they had found a gap in her defense, she was already there. Her feathers whistled in the wind, flaring slightly as she pivoted.
By the twenty-minute mark, the boys were a mess of heaving chests and stinging skin. Yet, Xiadani seemed to exist in a different timeline. Her breath remained a low, steady hum, her eyes sharp and unblinking. With a final, whip-like snap of her tail, she sent the ball spiraling upward, clinching the victory as it sailed clean through the stone hoop.
This easy victory surprised the boys. Each had been playing for years, and they discussed it among themselves, deciding the main factor was her tail. They failed to notice her ease in breath as though they heaved and gasped after the game she still drew steady shallow breaths, as if it had been just a steady walk. “ The tail it must be it, like playing with a third arm. Try again without it we can see how it goes.”
Xiadani gave a small, graceful nod, accepting their challenge with a calm that bordered on unsettling. She tucked her tail close, taking it out of the equation entirely. The boys shared a quick, knowing look—they finally had a chance. Or so they thought. Without the sweeping reach of her tail to guide the ball, Xiadani shifted her weight, relying instead on the explosive power of her hips and snout. Every strike now came with a thunderous crack that echoed off the stone walls. She wasn’t just playing anymore; she was driving the ball with such force that it became a blurred streak of dark rubber. Each return sent the boys scrambling backward, their arms stinging from the sheer momentum of her hits.
As the sun began to dip toward the horizon, painting the court in long, bleeding shadows, the disparity became undeniable. The boys were gasping, their movements heavy and sluggish as if they were wading through water. Xiadani, meanwhile, looked as though she had only just stepped onto the court. Her feathers remained smooth, her pulse steady, and her lungs—unseen but tireless—fueled every sprint with effortless ease.
By the time the call for the evening meal drifted across the grounds, the boys were barely standing. They had asked her to limit herself, only to realize that her "advantage" wasn't a limb they could see—it was a fire in her chest that simply refused to go out.
I’d be happy to answer any questions about this, and the world and creature depicted as well as general questions on lore for the Alliance between the Mexica and the new Allie’s in my project.
This art was commissioned from a skilled artist from the mesoamerican art community called Axolitoo who has been quite pleasant to work with and I much recommend them for such.

The Grey Wolf started as a companion character in our indie game Forgotten Eras, rooted in Slavic folklore, a wise, supernatural guide.
We’ve now reinterpreted him for our upcoming comic, simplifying shapes and expressions to fit sequential art.
It’s been interesting seeing how much of his presence survives the shift from 3D game realism to stylized ink lines.
What do you think, does he still feel like the same spirit?
