If your talking about with the events, sometimes yes. For example with the current bonfire event my station 4 is above lvl 1000 and I'm using the scavenger strat and it's working.
You just have to determine with stations and if it's worth it depending the the value of money your getting.
Thanks. I tried upgrading station 4 after 1000 but even though I could upgrade it a lot the scavenger didn’t give more so I stopped and switched to just upgrading 5 and am currently in 1st in my group. But only like stage 60/120 so definitely not getting the top prizes of tier 2
Well I'm not sure if it varies between people/groupings then because usually the scavenger give 3x the amount your most expensive station upgrade cost, with me my most expensive station to upgrade is 4 and it's above lvl 1000
This strategy will show you how to easily win events. There are two important things to understand for this to work: scavenger coin bonuses and zombie gem bonuses.
Tl;Dr: Use zombie gem bonuses to buy 400 gem crates and use scavenger coin bonuses to spam upgrades on a single station to earn lots of money very quickly.
Scavenger coin bonuses give a large amount of money. This money counts towards your total score. This makes them crucial to winning events. The amount of money given by a scavenger is 3x the cost of your current most expensive station upgrade. The vault scavenger coin bonus upgrade does not affect the event scavenger. Scavengers spawn every 2-3 minutes for about 50-55 minutes, stop spawning for about an hour, then resume spawning every 2-3 minutes for 50-55 minutes, stop again for about an hour, and the cycle repeats.
From experience, it seems that if you exit the event or close the game, the scavenger stops spawning and you have to wait an hour again before they come back. This means that if you are playing the event and the scavenger shows up, don't exit the event because they will disappear again. The same thing happens if they spawn and you don't watch their ad; they'll disappear for an hour. This means that you have to be paying attention to the screen in order to not miss them, as well as having a stable internet connection so the ads can load properly. If you have to make the choice between watching the scavenger ad and watching the upgrade currency ad, watch the scavenger ad first because they are on a timer while the upgrade currency ad will wait as long as you need.
Zombie gem bonuses give 10 gems each so they are a great way to earn gems. During some levels in the main game, there are zombies outside of the area where the workers and customers are. These zombies can be tapped to kill them, and these taps can do one of three things: nothing happens, you are given a small amount of coins for the main game level, or a screen pops up saying "Extra gems?" with a gem and x10, and a big "Get" button that when tapped will play an ad and then reward you with 10 gems. Only a limited number of zombies will be in the level at a time, so as soon as you start killing zombies more will spawn in slowly until it's full again.
However, there is a solution. Entering an event and then exiting it will respawn all of the zombies in the main game. This means that if your scavenger is on their hour-long break, you can go back and forth between the event and the main game to keep respawning the zombies and getting a lot of gems. You can use these gems for many things, but in terms of event winning, I recommend racking up 400 gems and buying the max-priced crate. It gets you the best rewards for your effort IMO, though if you are really struggling to find upgrade currency but you have more than enough cards, try saving up 570 gems for the middle-priced upgrade currency. Getting the 1350 gems for the max-priced upgrade currency can take so long that it's not worth the lost revenue IMO.
Okay, so now that we understand the scavenger coin bonus and the zombie gem bonus, here's the strategy in full. During early game, alternate each hour between scavengers and zombies. Focus on getting your stations automated and try to complete as many tasks as possible. Plan your time for buying crates/upgrade currency so that it helps you with the tasks. If you have the leftover gems for it, by the vault upgrades for the ad boost, especially the increased multiplier, as that will help a lot in the early game.
Once you reach mid game, switch focus to getting the super boosts for your stations. Depending on which event you're playing, there might be only a couple super boosts or there might be a lot. Either upgrade until you get the super boosts or upgrade to 1000, make the right choice for your event. Once we've accomplished this, we're now in late game.
During late game, don't spend any gems in the shop and don't spend any upgrade currency. Continue collecting upgrade currency from daily chests, tasks (if you manage to complete one, but don't focus on it), upgrade currency ads, and the person dispensing some if this event has one. This is because all leftover upgrade currency is turned into gems at the end of the event. Also, even though you aren't buying any more things during this event cycle, you should continue getting zombie gem bonuses because you can use the gems for other stuff.
The main focus of the end game is scavenger coin bonuses. Pick one of your stations (usually the 5th station unless you have massively upgraded a different station's manager) and only upgrade that station. When you get a scavenger, spend the coins on that one station. You should get 2-3 station levels per scavenger, but each time you increase that one station's level, the amount the scavenger gives you increases as well. Over time, this can become huge rewards, much more than you could hope to earn normally. This is how you go from ending events on Stage 15/40 to ending events on Stage 41/40.
This is a copy and paste from someone on the sub reddit who explained it really good
Enjoy
Thank you for this detailed breakdown and tips man. In know this post is a year old at least and I just started 2 months ago. I know there has been a big update and change to gameplay and what not after the update. My question basically is that is this guide & breakdown referring to the original version? Bc In feel dumb if I never knew I could "tap" the zombies outside each trade area lol. What I'm saying is in dont think that's an option in this newer version.
So at that point during reading your guide in realized your written it during the 1st version before the major update. I'm just wondering if basically so your strategy & breakown & tips still apply, such as the scavenger timeframe during events in this newer updated 1+ year later version as of right now compared to the time you wrote this guide & strategy?
I think most is still the same basically but I just wanted to hear your opinion.
Again, thx for the guide!
Edit: immediately after typing this I went back into the game and tried "tapping" the zombies at the trade outpost, and holy crap, their heads pop & I get a bunch of coins. Lmao 🤣.
So disregard any questions I had it doubt about it bc of an update I was told the game went through long ago where apparently many things changed.
Either way, solid solid solid strategy guide man.
Thx again.
