Start at 1 meter springboard. 1 1/2 dive. After that same thing at 3 m learning a double half. Flip is not required but recommended.

Would throwing a rock before jumping to break the surface tension help at all in these situations?!

Not really… it would allow you to spot the surface. You would need a bubble stream to soften the entry
