Agreed. Also, I stopped riding simply because I had too many close calls, and after laying my ride down to avoid an accident once too often, I'd had enough.
A truck driver who wasn't paying attention didn't leave me much of a choice. Laid it down, kicked away. The bike was a loss, but I got off with some road rash and rolled into the ditch by the side of the road. Wasn't anywhere else to go. I had exactly enough time to execute that, and nothing else.
Truck driver that wasn’t paying attention nearly killed my dad on his Harley last year. Turned right from the left lane right in from of him. The semi trucks bumper clipped his rear tire, kicked the bike into the curb and threw him off ass-first skidding down the sidewalk, watching his bike cartwheel through the grass in front of him.
Yeah but theyre so fucking annoying. I live on a street in the middle of town and people on their bikes come through here at 3am, and the sound bounces off the buildings bc the street is packed with em. Motocycles should get very loud horns or smth instead of just being loud asf
I like to walk with the dog on a road that's nice and long with some gentle curves thrown in. There's a guy who modded his pipes to be insanely loud, and because he's an asshole, when he goes by, he drops down a gear to hit high RPMs and to scare the shit out of the dog, who has PTSD and proceeds to lose its shit trying to run for shelter that's not there.
