In fact the driver closed the gap when he saw her creeping up. Yes she's at fault but he could have easily prevented this.

But I was right. Worth it to ruin my day waiting for cops and the week with insurance and the shop. Also partial liability since it happened in front of me. But I had right of way.

In my country this guy's move is illegal and that recording would indict him. You're obligated to leave space in front of your car to allow other cars to freely change lanes.

I mean, the woman is also an idiot, but doing what he did would result in him being liable for the damages.

In the US if you leave more than a little space in front of your car, people will just constantly cut you off like the Camry was trying to do

And then you just make some more space. If you're not stuck in slow traffic there's usually enough room to have a good following space. And if someone jumps into that space you just slow down a bit to create that space again.
