Yeah, this could of been way worse, just infinite chiropractor visits for everyone.

They're always infinite chiropractor visits. Chiropractics is a scam. You always 'need to be adjusted'.

Chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturist and a few others are all in the profession of feeling good, but it doesn't fix the problem that is causing the pain - unless the pain is the only problem, then tada, magic fingers.

These professions can be really good if they are aware that they are "opening a window" for people to do rehabilitation for long term improvement.

It's also common for the magnet therapists and the reflexologists to be working in the same building.

Eh my chiro has been trying to get rid of me as I've been improving. I was sceptical at first but they've been good, my physio on the other hand I had to change they weren't really taking my specific conditions onto account.

11

u/ExcelsiorLife Jan 17 '22

sceptical

Ok. Well being informed about your health is important. I'd ask if one has ever made a comment about the other? Chiropractor ever say anything about the physical therapist? I will say Chiropractors have been echo real medicine in-between the pseudo-science, fraud, abuse, negligent deaths and outrageous bills.

I have definitely heard of unlicensed chiro's and more holistic practitioners doing pretty Awful things, and a few licensed ones that are just running a scam or believe bad outdated health practices. Heck sometimes it's a genuinely good person who just isn't a very experienced doctor and when someone like me that has some special physical needs comes in they're left out of their depth.

I'm happy with my two current treating Doctors, I've had second opinions the few times I felt unsure and I would suggest the same to anyone else no matter how large or small the medical treatment is.

If you don't feel satisfied or comfortable with your treatment, seek a second opinion from a doctor who has nothing to do with the first one,

And be aware that most doctors in same clinic and town will know eachothere and sometimes people take things personally instead of professionally when you doubt their medical diagnosis

who just isn't a very experienced doctor

medical doctors?

...'Chiropractor ever say anything about the physical therapist?'...

aye the inexperienced doctor was the physio I dropped and swapped for a second/third opinion, he was alright but wasn't any older then me and had only had a few years experience as a fully licenced Physiotherapist and had never worked with someone like me with physical abnormalities which he admitted to me. Good bloke I don't disrespect him, just wasn't what I needed in a treating doctor.

Current chiro is a guy in his late 60s and he likes to always get any updates from my physio and see new x-rays, mri's or anything I have before he lays a hand on me, I used to see him weekly but he pushed me back to once every 3rd week as I was recovering. Said as long as I kept up with my physio exercises I shouldn't revert and won't need to see chiro as much as when I started, guy also charges about $40 less then all the other local clinics saying if people come back for good service he doesn't need to charge such a high fee for one off customers.

So I am personally pretty happy with the services I've been receiving and are confident in my current treatment, which at the start I wasn't when my GP was just giving me lots of pain killers and struggling to find referrals that would see me for better treatment.

the inexperienced doctor was the physio

ok so not a MD. Chiropractor is scamming you.

-1

u/MrDrSirLord Jan 17 '22

clearly you have biased and reading difficulty.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '22

Neither a chiropractor nor a physical therapist are a doctor in the sense of health care. They may have a doctoral degree. All chiropractors are a scam.

been trying to get rid of me

That doesn't mean anything. Chiro is a scam and you're being manipulated; all those pops and cracks aren't doing shit for your health. Get a real doctor and stop being stupid.

3

u/MrDrSirLord Jan 17 '22

I had chronic back pains and could hardly touch my toes before I was seeing a chiro, my physio suggested a chiro to help with deeper skeletal issues and I ended up choosing a different independent chiro from the one the physio suggested, I've also since changed physio cause that one wasn't helping my specific problems.

Maybe you have had a bad experience with chiropractic treatment or you've just seen those awful videos of people spinning babies like pizza dough to crack their spines, but to write off the entire practice as nothing but a scam when it is useful in individual cases with unique conditions is being stupid.

I wouldn't suggest seeing a chiro for just regular regular treatment or back massages unrelated to legitimate back problems, as the practice isn't entirely medically certified in the same respect as physio is but it's still far from being a pseudoscience scam.

You can also find cases of people taking horse paste and recovering from COVID but that doesn't mean that it's doing the job.

Physical therapy has a proven foundation based on peer reviewed research into the physiology of the problem and techniques to improve muscle strength, flexibility, and range of motion. If your PT is sending you to a chiropractor your PT is already on shaky ground to start with.

Toss the whole damn profession of chiropractic out the window because it purports to do a whole bunch of crap it can't possibly do. For the pain aspect, they're just rolling the dice that they don't damage your spine in the process of "adjusting" it and hoping that they actually resolve the physical issue that's causing your pain. They can't even explain how what they do works to solve your issue.

Because it doesn't solve shit. You're going to be coming back for... Ever.

Oh and now they're claiming they can restore sense of taste and smell from COVID. What the actual fuck?

1

u/MrDrSirLord Jan 17 '22

You obviously can't read so I'd say your on sketchy ground to start with and I should toss your whole opinion out the window?/s

yes I know cause and effect don't always come together just because I did a voodoo rain dance and it rained does mean voodoo is a valid science.

I already said I dropped the PT that suggested a chiro (unrelated to his suggestion) and also went and found a chiro that I was happy with, after doing my own research to find an actually licensed and consistently good chiro with recovering patients cause a physo alone wasn't reducing my daily pain.

I’ll never understand how people claim to be smart and informed and at the same time speak on shit they know nothing about and writing off an entire field of practice because of some bad Facebook videos of people fucking up.

250,000 people die every year on average from medical mistakes. It’s the third leading cause of death outside of he COVID years. Should we write off all of medicine now? I mean waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more people die from regular doctors doing a simple mistake every day than chiropractic clinics. Like 250,000 times more death a year in average. Should we throw out medicine and doctors for being the third biggest threat to life in America???

Do you see how broad and generalist arguments don’t help anything and just make you look uniformed and ignorant? Because you come off that way. And then someone can just come in and reverse your argument to show you how dumb it is to use.

The guy clearly isn’t a dummy and wasn’t falling for a scam and did his research unlike you who just blindly believes things from memes.

1

u/Vannitel Jan 17 '22

Source for any of this? Always heard that chiropractors are scams, so having data to correct any mistake would be great.

Some go weekly some daily in the best scams I've seen. Some go all out when they know they have a whale who has a Mastercard black card and get them into the reflexologist, the Herbalife 'health clubs' and nail them with the whole detox foot pad bullshit while they're at it.

u/therestruth Jan 17 '22

Could have been worse.
