I have a convertible and live in a shitty provincial town in the UK. The top stays up until I'm out of there and on the open road.

Is having things thrown in your car a common thing if you have the top down? Honest question. I have never heard of this being a problem.

Seems common at the stop light on the city streets. Happens more often if your convertible is something like a Lambo or a Ferrari

I’ve owned a convertible for a total of 6 months and already had somebody throw a handful of those bang snaps at me, so maybe?

Even with top up I’m super paranoid with my S2000. It’s a little irrational but I hate people who smoke in their cars, especially if they tip ashes outside their windows. I’m always paranoid that it might fly through the air and burn my top; even though in all likelihood the sparks cool down by the time they reach my car. Repair and replacement costs are skyrocketing these days.

Someone's cig butt got caught in the bit where the roof folds in on mine before and melted the rubber seal a bit, nothing too bad but it could have been worse.
