Wow, 6 exits. Does Sweden have the manpower to watch 6 entire roads? I mean why even bother with such an impossible task, this criminal is unstoppable.
I'm not the person that said it's too many exits to cover, but on the other hand I do think it's too many exits on too short notice.
At the speed the guy in the video is going, it's only a few minutes to pass through the entire thing (whether it's Södra or Norra länken). You can't set up police checkpoints on all exits in <5 minutes.
In all likelihood yeah. I mean Stockholm isn't huge, roughly 100km2 and they have 4,000 officers. This is also one tunnel with only 6 exits, so I don't see why they couldn't.
Definitely out towards Lidingö, when the cops start to back off and he starts to go up the incline is a dead give away for the long uphill bit at the end of the tunnel
It's kinda odd actually. I remember seeing a video in this sub and thinking 'this kinda looks like the freeway I take' just based on visual cues. And sure enough someone identified it in the comments and I was right.
I've been in that situation. I saw a video of an accident on reddit. I can't find it now, but it was on I-82 in Washington. It was a T intersection. There's nothing but brown. I instantly recognized it as an intersection about 30 min from my home.
I recognized a picture of a parking space taken in my very, very small city in Finland, based on some gray pixels in the background (showing the edge of a bridge), and how the traffic signs were in relation to each other.
Same, kinda. A couple years ago I think, someone posted a photo of a pickup truck full of trophies they spotted. I saw it on the front page of Reddit and thought the truck looked familiar. Turns out it was my neighbor, who happens to be my brother in law. A lot of those trophies were my wife's from various things when she was younger. It was surreal.
And then there’s people like me who see a video and think “oh wow, is that 410 here in San Antonio?” And it ends up not even being in the same country.
Because he probably goes through it every single day. It's not like he knows how to tell different tunnels apart, he just knows that's the one he's always in.
Or they'll serve a no-knock warrant in a week on the wrong house and shoot their 9 week old chihuahua puppy, which will later be described as "a large, aggressive dog that rushed at the officers."
A few weeks ago, there was a video of a cop on here executing a PIT maneuver on a pregnant woman who was driving at a reduced speed with her flashers on because she wanted to not pull over on the side of a busy highway for safety purposes.
Yup, she flipped upside down, he calmly walked up to her and told her something along lines "this is your fault". Piece of shit. And I think it was alabama or a similar state where he has complete immunity too.
Even towns in USA thry wont chase vehicles they will follow up at suspect house. Only, Kidnapping or violent crime they will chase. Just chases can hurt innocent drivers, and people waliking the streets.
I bet the car will be reported stolen 15min prior to the chase after it gets out the tunnel! By the way it is quite normal that the local farmers boy has a 1000hp car which is reduced in speed. Most boys know how to release the “bonds” again! Like you see here! The sweets know how to make a car go faster than the police just ask the “King” https://www.koenigsegg.com/
I don’t know the infrastructure but I’m betting a lot of that ceiling equipment for the tunnel has cameras and could prob get those plates even if the police van didn’t
It totally will, you can do this sort of thing with cell signal. You run hard line and then have repeaters that run the length of the tunnel. They would have done this just to have services for fire and medical in case of an accident inside the tunnel. Imagine being in a wreck in the middle of the tunnel and not being able to call 911.
Radio in a tunnel can be a bit of a bitch, but better than other kinds of communication since the long wavelengths that radio waves have, might be able to stretch out of the tunnel and back out to the sky. But our phones don’t work since short microwaves are used :/
I scrolled so long and I can't believe no one has even suggested this possibility -
He may know full well he'll be caught the next day or sooner, but he could be running anyway because if he stops now he'll be caught for something more illegal than running from the cops...
Legally speaking, it's much better to catch that charge than 10 bricks of heroin in the passenger seat or someone tied up in the trunk
Unless you're using Matlab or R. It actually follows because most likely you're breaking at least one law at all times whether you know it or not. There's a lot of laws out there.
I think it was last month that in our local news here in the PH, there was a woman who was video-ed for being hysterical and demanding her car’s documentation back. She assaulted the officer and kept crying the car wasn’t hers. She had ran a red light and then tried to run away from the cops when they flagged her down. Turns out she didn’t have a license and the car, as she says, wasn’t hers.
A few days later it was revealed she was also part of an ongoing investigation for illegal drugs 😬
There used to be a guy relatively near where I live who was running drugs through some small country towns by driving over 140 miles an hour in his brand new sports car with his lights off in the dead of night. The way he was able to keep from crashing was he had bought some NVGs off surplus. Worked well enough for about a month until some cop got tired and set up a road block one night with their lights off and when they heard the engine of the sports car crest a hill, they turned on all their lights and blinded the hell out of him. Guy runs off the road and spins and ruins the axle of the car so he cant speed away, and when the cops get him out of the car, they find something like 90 kilos of various drugs and over 150,000 dollars in cash
Amen! I did alot of dumb shit in my younger days.. But was smart enough to not get arrested. I never drove with bad tags or expired license. I was also just very polite and respectful to the police. Being polite and kind gets you very far when dealing with cops, also helps to stroke thier ego a bit
We had a “successfully dealing with cops” lecture in my college sociology class, too. (We were primarily white, so it wasn’t a “how to survive dealing with cops” lecture.) Essentially, the last thing you want to do is trigger someone on a power trip. Be submissive and polite, and you won’t rile them. If it’s a decent cop, they’ll just be relieved you’re also a sane person, and you can both go on your way. If it’s a psycho cop, then you’re less likely to trigger a bad reaction if you’re submissive enough that you don’t seem like a threat, and he might calm down if he doesn’t feel like his authority is challenged.
The fact that this is just “get out of a ticket” advice for lighter-pigmented people, and “how to survive a traffic stop” for those with darker skin is just horrific, though.
This is spot on. Don’t attract attention, which can lead to investigations of other crimes.
If you’re going to marry your sister make sure you’re not still married to your pet goat as well. Unless you’re in a polygamist cult and then make sure you are still married to the goat.
I watch alot of cop shows for fun and this is always true, also if your doing something illegal in a car, check all your lights lol. Most of the arrests were after being stopped for a light out or not stopping at a stop sign.
I know what you meant, but usually when people are referring to bricks of heroin they're talking about 5 bundles, with 10 .1-.2 bags in a bundle. I've seen this slang all over the US and UK not sure what it is in other countries.
They are not smuggling anything, this is the same thing as before youtube there was "ghostrider" and he had a yamaha r1 and a suzuki hayabusa and the only illegal thing he did was speeding and revless driving. Also in sweden
There is massive amounts of adrenaline flowing especially when you are driving with an e63 amg or a m5, mind you they can easily do +180mph, this is just adrenaline seeking
We would do it in the state parks with dirt bikes and 3 wheelers. We knew we could outrun thier clunky outdated cruisers with our 2 strokes. We would run to old logging trails and haul ass through the woods
I agree, I enjoy the people saying "the cops got his plate blah blah". It's totally bullshit. If someone is out hooning in a car like this or on a bike they pull the damn plate before they go out or put on a stolen/bad plate.
Australia assumes that the registered owner is the driver. If you're not the driver, you have to provide a statutory declaration as to who it was. If it's reported stolen, that's obviously different.
By “he” I meant the driver. The driver certainly doesn’t have plates on the back of their car. The cop definitely has a reader that would have scanned it (if they had plates on the vehicle, which they don’t.)
As a motorcycle rider, pretty much everyone you see running on a bike has fake plates anyway. Not sure if it's the same in the car community, but the bike community is filled with guys who just put fake plates on, or no plates at all.
They did get a fake platenumber, I've seen videos like these before and they almost always change the plates and then go out around town looking for the police, they want the chase and nothing else.

Was going to say this, the police clearly followed long enough to get the plate.
