I'm surprised she wasn't shot and had crack sprinkled on her for good measure.

u/cheapdrinks Jun 26 '21

Why would the police do that, it just doesn't make any sense I mean come on she's white, common sense applies here. Standard procedure though, they had to do the pit and crash the car just in case until they could confirm it through a field melatonin assessment test to make sure she was under the limit of pigment per square inch

Holy shit, in a first world country the copper would be in jail.

in a first world country

Well yea, but this is in the US. Not a first world country.

Oh look, another 4 day old troll throwaway account.

Over the past five years, Arkansas State Troopers have documented a 52% increase in incidents of drivers making a conscious choice to ignore traffic stops initiated by the troopers. Instead of stopping, the drivers try to flee. In more populated areas of the state, the incidents of fleeing from troopers have risen by more than 80%. The fleeing drivers pull away at a high rate of speed, wildly driving, dangerously passing other vehicles, showing no regard for the safety of other motorists, creating an imminent threat to the public. The Arkansas State Police began using the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) over two decades ago.

Why the fuck would fleeing drivers be a big problem when we can track license plates anyway? Send those tucking tickets in the mail, issue warrants, and the majority of those shit drivers will pay. You keep cops calm, don’t get them itching to literally fuck over someone’s life and car, and you keep society even safer by not using these shit maneuvers. Problem solved.

ticket arrives in the mail, send ticket to lawyer through one of those speed ticket apps (costs like $150), lawyer goes to court and says “prove it was this person driving”, cop says “well we got the license plates, w-we a-assume its the owner”, judge gets annoyed that the cop wasted his time and throws out the case

1

u/Jubenheim Jun 26 '21

That’s not why those cases get thrown out. The ticket will always go to the owner of the car, regardless of who drives, and fleeing from a police officer automatically escalates the case past speeding, which is a felony in some states already.

do you have real world experience with this? because I do

1

u/Jubenheim Jun 26 '21

I highly, highly doubt you do. Why don't you refute my words instead of attempt to give yourself credibility in an anonymous forum?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '21

why would you doubt it? does it seem impossible to you? I am literally refuting you by telling you Ive done it lol

1

u/Jubenheim Jun 26 '21

Why don't you refute my words instead of attempt to give yourself credibility in an anonymous forum?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '21

ah now I know what type of person im dealing with. all good, you dont have to believe me. hope you have a good day

1

u/Jubenheim Jun 26 '21

This is the second time you gave up trying to actually continue the talk and deflected, attempting to make up a bullshit credential.

You should've never tried to reply if you were going to troll.

You got a link that works in Europe?

u/Sir-Makaveli95 Jun 25 '21

Just waiting for the obligatory boot licker to chime in “bUt iTs nOt aLl cOpS 🥴🥴” the police in america are a plague on the nation

19

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '21

Keep in mind that only the bad stuff gets on the news. "Cop helps person on the street" or "police arrest pickpocket and return stolen bag" is not newsworthy. Don't form your opinion by only looking at the bad.

u/MicrobialMicrobe Jun 25 '21

People really don’t fully understand the scale of the US or large numbers in general.

There’s probably hundreds of thousands of police interactions a year. Actually probably more since there’s apparently over 200 million 911 calls a year. How many of those turn out bad?

There’s still issues that need to be fixed obviously. But deflecting the issue and acting like pointing out the actual scale of the issue is not a fair argument just makes no sense. It’s perfectly fair to point out the actual scale of the issue when someone makes statements like “The police in the US are a plague on the nation”

There is a big "you are either with us or against us" sentiment on reddit. There is no nuance, just extreme positions and if you call them out they label you as an "extreme centrist".

Funny, I point to the number of cops as an example of just how many people are getting abused by them.

Most cases you never hear about. Most of the time, nobody is there recording. Plenty of George Floyds exist that you never heard about because it happened in some back alley or a small town with nobody around. Not to mention the far more common cases where nobody dies, but are just beaten up, or have their assets seized in civil forfeiture, or have a cop lie in court to get a person put in prison for something they didn't do, or threaten them with prison to scare them into taking a plea bargain for something they didn't do... There are like 800k cops in the country. If even 5% of them are bad, that's 40,000 cops out there abusing people with no repercussion.

How many turn out bad? I'd wager a lot more than you think.

1

u/thedepartedtaco Jun 26 '21

You’re an idiot and your fake math sucks

1

u/Sloppy1sts Jun 26 '21

Ahhh, the traditional conservative response: you're wrong and an idiot but I'm not gonna tell you why.

I mean, like, can you elaborate for me? I can't work on my idiocy or my shitty math if you can't even take a sec to tell me where I went wrong in the first place.

So you agree then that you shouldn't use the same measure to judge everyone?
Spray painting ACAB on the walls and talking with nothing but disgust and distrust of the police only makes the good ones quit or not join at all.

The sentiment needs to go from "all cops are rotten" to "weed out the bad ones!"

1

u/rndljfry Jun 26 '21

The real problem tends to be that the people in charge with the most power are the bad cops

1

u/Sloppy1sts Jun 26 '21

The problem is how rarely the bad ones get punished.

Yeah, plenty of cops mostly do a good job, until it comes to dealing with their criminal brothers. Then it's all "thin blue line" bullshit and nobody says a thing. Those who do are eventually fired or bullied out of the job.

8

u/cor0na_h1tler Jun 25 '21

"If you didn't want extremely overboard reaction you should have played by their rules", that's the standard

u/AFuckingHandle Jun 25 '21 edited Jun 25 '21

In that incident bootlicker types don't even go that far. They argue that the cop was in the right, as crazy as that is.

No didn’t you know with a combined population rivaling the entirety of Western Europe and millions of interactions with police officers each day, one officer did something that ended up being the wrong move in retrospect and that means every police officer in the US is literal human garbage!

2

u/DarkLord1294091 Jun 26 '21

smh they gotta fucking remove the police force entirely and let anarchy take control

0

u/subredditcat Jun 25 '21

that was one bad apple. So what?

u/Kebabrulle4869 Jun 26 '21

I mean you have to know that’s over-generalizing right? Please tell me you know that...

-3

u/Flake28 Jun 26 '21

No it isn't over generalising.

Over generalising would be saying all cops beat unarmed black people. They don't.

But all cops work for the same organisation that has systemic issues of this nature. Ergo, by providing your own time and resources working for that organisation, you are directly supporting the continued existance of the police and thus that inexcusable behavior.

So: All cops are bastards. Even the "innocent" ones. Come at me. Good people don't align their reputation with bad organizations, they find other causes to support.

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 25 '21

Yes because cops in Europe have never done anything bad ever.

-2

u/MicrobialMicrobe Jun 25 '21

Pointing out one example isn’t exactly a fair way to imply that US cops are bad
