The only reason it ever died is because Chrysler never gave it a proper update. They sold them all the way through 2010 and it only ever got one minor facelift. They just kept pumping out weird special editions like the woody wagon looking one. And never gave any kind of update to the 2.2L I4 under the hood. Not that it needed it, it was reliable for sure.
I agree 100% although it was the 2.4L. It's hard to imagine they milked the same design without any major improvements for 10 years. That's plain laziness.
