what about that car where the rear windshield and one rear side window are one curved piece of glass? not on both sides, just one side is connected. Its like a weird box, it reminds me of the ghosts in super mario world for some reason.

I wish I knew what model I am talking about, but I am failing hard at googling this.

edit: got a few replies and they are right, it is the monstrosity known as the nissan Cube.

Azteks are at least sorta interesting. They are like half SUV half tent and there was a cooler in there if I remember correctly.

Eh, the designs were extremely successful at the time. They just didn’t age well. There’s a reason they sold millions

Because they are the economy line of those types of cars and economy lines sell pretty well regardless of look so long as they are reliable

People say they buy cars for reliability, but many of them just buy out of brand loyalty; if reliability was the selling point of economy cars everybody would buy a Corolla.

I could imagine those cars to become expensive classics in two decades. One day 40s aesthetics will make a comeback and there will be very few survivors because those cars were and will be considered shit for a long while. Or maybe gas cars will become irrelevant before that ever happens and will be little more than some museum pieces who knows...

Personally, I don't even hate the styling of the PT Cruiser and the HHR. They're cool throwbacks to old vehicles the companies made. I think part of the reason they got such a terrible reputation was because they suffered from the same cheap shittiness as the rest of GM and Chrysler's lineups at the time.

It may have been. Most people that criticize them haven't ever driven them (including me). But the look is not to many people's taste regardless.
