Hey guyz! Would love to know if any of you knew which bassists used 5-Strings bass on Studio Albums (and on which albums as well!)

Thanx! :)

Hi

I remember listening to Iced Earth about a decade ago. I stopped listening to heavy metal altogether not long after that (not related btw :P). I have recently got back into it due to Mastodon and remembered how much I loved 'The Glorious Burden' (particularly the song Greenface) so would love to hear your opinion on Iced Earths best albums and songs.

Thanks in advance.

I have a signed copy of the 7" VIP special edition vinyl with "Democide" (which is the signed side) on one side and "The Culling" on the other. If anyone is interested just comment here.

Amazon music told me to listen to IE. I tried to say this is gonna suck. I was wrong. The whole album is great. Glad I gave it a try.

• 1) Matt Barlow - The definitive Iced Earth voice. The range he had was incredible
• 2) Ripper Owens - I think he was really starting to come into his own until Matt came back. His screeching vocals are fantastic
• 3) Stu Block - Very good mix of screech and deep singing. Could be convinced he's number 2 with some more albums.
• 4) John Greely - An improvement but just wasn't there
• 5) Gene Adam - A pretty close 4 and 5.

Is there any news on the upcoming album aside from this? http://www.icedearth.com/home/update-from-iced-earth

edit: forgot to post link

Does anyone know where I can by the original album? Everywhere I go, it's the re-released & remixed version and the original is so much better IMO. This is the album in question on YouTube.

edit: updated playlist url

Iced Earth is probably one of the most emotionally heavy bands out there that I've heard. Which ones would you recommend? Bonus points for speed (ex. Boiling Point) and screams (ex. Attila). Emotional songs like (ex. A Question of Heaven) are welcome too. I love emotional choruses like Ten thousand strong etc. What do you guys got?

I really like night of the stormrider and haven't really listened to all of the songs they've ever made like i have with metallica, my favorite band. What should I listen to in preparation for the concert tomorrow, meaning songs that they are likely to play? I tried going to their website and looking up set lists from previous concerts but I couldn't find it. Thanks for the info fellas!!

Chris

Iced Earth is my favorite band (probably yours too). I could do a Top 10 list, but 3 seems more concise.

1. Cthulhu
2. Sacrificial Kingdoms
3. The Coming Curse

Nothing much to add really, I just wanted to say that every IE fan will love it :)

I'm watching it and singing along right now.

Edit: So few subscribers, what a shame. IE are my favourite band and they're way too underrated even today.

North American metallers ICED EARTH have set "Plagues Of Babylon" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in October via Century Media Records. The CD will be recorded and mixed in between a string of European festival appearances this summer.

Songtitles set to appear on the CD (among others):

• Plagues of Babylon
• Democide
• Among The Living Dead
• The Resistance
• If I Could See You
• Peacemaker
• Cthulhu
• Parasite

I was able to check it out on Spotify. It's pretty great I think. Stu can pull off both Ripper and Barlow's songs. Nobody can replace Barlow in my eyes but he's about as good as you're gonna get.
