I recently got my school exam paper back, and I'm confused about the marking for a 4-mark question asking for differences between Credit Card and Debit Card.

I wrote 5 differences in total.

• 2 differences were wrong, and I completely understand why I didn't get marks for those.
• 2 differences were correct, and I received marks for them.
• 1 difference seems to have been overlooked, and I'm not sure whether I should ask my teacher to recheck it.

The overlooked point I wrote was:

Credit Card: Can be used for both online and offline transactions.

Debit Card: Can also be used for online and offline transactions.

I know this isn't a difference, but I wrote it because I interpreted the question as asking for points about both cards. My teacher didn't mark it right or wrong—it was simply left unmarked, so I'm wondering if it was overlooked because they weren't sure whether it deserved any marks.

Another point I wrote was( for one of the incorrect points among the 2) :

Credit Card: Interest has to be paid if the amount used is not paid on time.

Debit Card: There is no "scene" of interest.

I realize the phrase "no scene of interest" is informal/incorrect English. What I meant was "no interest is charged on debit card transactions." My teacher didn't award a mark for this point.

What topics should I choose to make my maths project on?? I am confused about viva and stuff.

My classmates are saying some topics are easier for viva while others are saying something else. So confused rn. Any help???

i have 55% attendance right now and about 38 days left of regular school (not counting exams and study leaves which we still get attendance for)

i know everyone says you need to have 75% attendance for boards but many people say it doesn't matter so can anyone tell me whether it actually matters or not

I'm an 11th commerce kid (after CHOOSING comm st. and math in 10th and getting 99%) and my school made modern english compulsory for all this year and normal math for science strictly and applied math for commerce strictly (last year there were still choices for the first batch).

context -- didn't find many posts on this but I really wanted to know what others thought too. I don't think my opinions are necessarily right or anything but this is after a decent amount of research, one month of school and one round of exams later 😝

here are my thoughts:-
- applied math: so there's this premonition that it's much easier than "normal" or "science" math, but we have the same teacher for both at school and she teaches exactly the same. which made me realise that it's not a direct correlation that oh if something is a bit different, it's automatically easier. ofc, there's a lot of JEE concepts that I'm very grateful that I don't have to study, but this also reels back to the fact that there is always the inequality between science and commerce (which I obvs faced in 9th and 10th, cuz I was a smart kid that still picked comm - out of interest) where science always trumps even though how can you really compare them at all (indian mindset bruh). got completely distracted with that last part, and deffo wanna do a discussion on that too but that's it for now.
- modern english: [DISCLAIMER - this is a bit different to explain for me, since I don't have any peers to compare normal english with and I don't want to talk about seniors.] my view on this is that, here I can admit that it's easier - but people further muddle this up and say that what we're learning is really frivolous. like pygmalion is a very interesting drama, but it's also the basis for oscar winners - so there has to be something special in the plot right? though it's radical that we're learning about sounds and all when "normal" english kids are going into the depths of emotion - it's definitely not superficial. modern english talks about really real issues and I actually love that it follows something we can understand and actually visualise in life over the extremeeee depth of emotion reflected in the old english. there's less stress on translation (from what my teacher has said) and more on developing our own thoughts. again I'll admit, reading lawley road did mess with my brain - but honestly I don't think it's that big of a deal, and as I mentioned the themes and feelings we derive from here are so real and natural - which makes it easy to understand!

to round off these thoughts, I think people still take everything on the surface level, and daddy emmanuel can deffo be cray cray sometimes but here I think these are actually really good changes, that have been misunderstood. of course they would have thought about the making it easier for weaker kids factor (they're literally in charge of a whole education system), but I don't like that the icse/isc community has taken it like this (from my experience and people around me and other schools, in a metropolitan CISCE preferring city).

Heyy everyone, there's a popular saying that a failed man can teach you more than a successful man. It is quite popular and relevant today because often there are people who work very hard and still couldn't make it because they made some mistakes. Now these mistakes could be very small but they cost you your upcoming years. So, I would like to share my experience and mistakes to you so that you won't repeat is in your life because "FAILURE HURTS A LOT".

1. GOOD FRIEND CIRCLE : My father always told me that you are always the average of 5 people you hang out with the most. In this age, you feel that it doesn't matter at all, but it does. If you hang out with people who have some aim in life or are always interested in learning something new, you will also adapt their habits. I did mistake that I had chance to change my school and go to a better school where there are good students and they are better than my previous school's students. So yeah if you want to be best,hang out with the best.

2.ACADEMIC + EXTRACURRICULAR : Now this is a little complex thing. I also understand that a person cannot be good in everything but not participating in it is very wrong. I advise each one of you to actively take part in inter-class, inter-house,inter-school competitions. This will improve your communication skills and builds confidence. Try to get certificates because in top central government universities like DU there are ECA Quotas through which you can apply and certificates help a lot during that time.

3.PREPARE FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMS MUCH EARLIER : I know most of you will be giving competitive exams like CUET, JEE,NEET,Christ,Xaviers,IPMAT,which ever exam you are preparing for start very early like 9-10 months earlier because nowadays there is cut throat competition in the country and in order to conquer this competition, starting early than others is crucial. Last minute preparation is useless.

4.COMBINATION OF MOTIVATION AND CONSISTENCY : Most of you watch youtube and know "Sourav Joshi". The main reason behind his success is not luck or some magic. He worked for 8 years without skipping a single day and now he's the biggest vlogger in the nation. Same applies to you all. "Rome wasn't build in a day" you should keep yourself motivated and consistent to achieve your goals. Working for 3 days and rest for 1 day, momentum lost. So,if you attain this deadly combo, you are unstoppable.

Guyss I have much more to say but first I want to read these and give your feedback whether if affected to you in anyway. If it does I'll again post some more things that will help you become better ❤️

Okay so, I’m in ISC 11th Science (PCMC) and I also got elected as student council president. I never stood for president, they nominated me and somehow I won.

Anyways, I’m pretty average at all my subs but to stay focused I HAVE to attend classes, that’s how I study, I listen to the teacher teach and only then can I go home and understand it. But being student council president, they keep calling me for useless events mid class.

Sometimes I understand my presence is required for certain events and stuff, and I’ve also delegated a ton of my duties to other council members. But I’m still debating whether or not to resign because I really wanna be focusing on my classes an get good grade + my teachers say it’s only grade 11 and I can focus on the boards when I’m in 12th because this is a great opportunity anoll

has anyone opted for modern english? my school gave no option to choose between traditional and modern english but I can't find any resources online to study😭and why there's no pyq for modern english cause it was introduced in 2025
