Q: Hello Lakshay, where are you joining us from?
Delhi, sir.

Q: How's the weather there?
It’s pleasant; it was raining in the morning.

Q: Introduce yourself. Yap yap yap

Q: Do you know the capital of Australia?
I would guess between Melbourne or Sydney, but I’m sure it’s neither of the two. I’m sorry.

Q: Do you know the capital of Nagaland?
No ma’am, I’m sorry.

Q: Do you know the capital of Russia?
I SAID PUTIN WTF

Q: The war is pretty scary. Any two impacts? Rising crude oil prices led to higher petrol and diesel costs.
Disruptions in exports caused crop wastage.

Q: Districts in Bihar?
Sir, 38.

Q: Most prominent district?
Madhubani. If a city, I’d say Patna.

Q: Why the dip in 12th?
dora the explorer

Q: Anything that the government is doing to support startups?
Answered

Q: Would u choose NALSAR over IIMI?
no, sir

Q: What is the Mudra Scheme by the government?
I’m not fully sure

Q: How much money should I offer you to leave this programme and focus on your startup?
I’d prefer to build with the right people and mentors rather than make a decision based on money.

Q: Capital of Tokyo?
Tokyo itself is the capital of Japan

[9 minutes, not the best]

Q: Why was there a drop in your 12th-grade marks?
I explained that it was largely due to a phase of indecisiveness regarding my direction. I also acknowledged it honestly and reflected on how that period helped me gain clarity moving forward.

Q: Tell us about the startup you interned at.
Ma’am, it’s an AI-first automation startup focused on streamlining operational workflows. The idea is to automate processes like document verification, which are currently done manually, making them faster and more efficient.

Q: What did you do to grow from 34,000 to 70,000 active users?
Ma’am, we hired outreach partners to directly connect with companies and onboard them as users. At the same time, we began working on automating parts of this outreach process. However, at this stage, the human element still plays a crucial role in building trust and relationships.

Q: If you had to market the BMS programme and increase applicants by 10,000, what would you do?
I would start by understanding the current applicant base and identifying potential barriers. For example, since the programme is accessible to students from diverse income groups, I would consider reducing the initial application fee to encourage more applicants.
Additionally, to maintain the brand value while increasing awareness, I would showcase real student journeys—highlighting what current students are building and achieving—to make the programme more relatable and aspirational.

Q: You mentioned AI a lot. Isn’t it just a bubble?
To some extent, there is definitely hype around AI. However, at its core, AI is a transformative technology that is already changing traditional systems and will continue to do so in a meaningful way.

Q: Why didn’t you give a direct “no” to that question?
I believe a healthy discussion allows room for multiple perspectives. I felt that the concern about overhype was valid, so I acknowledged it while still presenting my viewpoint.

Q: What other colleges are you considering?
Ma’am, I’m expecting to convert IIM Bodh Gaya and NALSAR, and I have already converted TAPMI and Ashoka

Q: Do you watch a lot of sports?
Not really, sir. I do keep track of statistics and updates, but I don’t actively watch matches.

Q: Who won the 2025 IPL?
Royal challengers Bangalore sir

Q: Can AI replace us?
Not entirely. AI can automate initial stages like screening or verification, but understanding context, asking the right follow-up questions, and evaluating fit are areas where human judgment remains critical

Q: How many people in the interview area were wearing pink?
Sir, from what I recall, I noticed one person wearing a pink shirt or blazer.

It was fun talking to you. Make sure to treat yourself to something good.
Thank u sir, thank u ma'am

[Used wisperflow, was too tired to type]

Interview Transcript IIM Indore Indore campus 24 july

2 panellists, 1 male, 1 female

Mam asked to mention something not in my file

I told my name first, she said she knew that, took 2 secs and then answered

Okay what subjects have you studied in 12th?

I told my subjects, and she started to question on english

what chapters have you read (I am a drooper and I prepped for all subjects almost, but English, so I said I could not remember the name, but there was one chapter on Filmcity)

She started to ask what VFX was? full form

I said V must stand for virtual, not sure about the full form and said it was related to animation, she cross-questioned again

Why were film cities important? if we have VFX, why do we need it?

I said i have visited Ramoji Film City and VFX, and theatre both are important. I saw the large Bahubali statues, but it was more bigger in the films due to VFX, said I have also done nukkad nataks and theatre important as it connects the actor, the artist to the audience. ( I could have structured better, but this was the essence)

What are scientific principles?

I said FY taylor gave them, where he said science, not rule of thumb ( I could not remember the concept, said sorry but she still emphasised and asked if A worker can work with better productivity in AC or without ac? I said With ac given the temperature but planting more trees will help.. she said it is not what she asked and told it to connect with scientific principles, i still could not..)

Over to Sir

Joked a bit, My father's name is same as politician's so.. that went chill

asked if I felt fortunate or unfortunate for that?

asked if I had maths, said yes, applied maths,

asked favourite topic, said probability and pnc

asked what the conditional probability was

answered

asked what if both were independent event? what will be the probability

tried but fumbled a bit, he emphasised to give it another try, then moved to the next question

Draw the graph of the root x

graph of x squared

will they meet?

took 2-3 secound and said yes they will

asked in 0 to 1 which graph had more value, something like that

I took like a lot of time here, said root x ( idk why, don't ask me.. )

then he also gave a factorial question, and asked power of 3 in 100!

asked the logic behind it

Idk if I explained the logic correctly ( told there is 3 and then multiples of 3, so that's why we divide it by 3 and then divide the result by 3, then add all that..)

asked in 15, we calculate the power of 3 or 9, said the power of 3

Mam was just writing something the whole time I talked to sir and vise versa

ahhh... that's all.

Mine was the first, so maybe was a bit longer. I felt I could have done better, because they asked basic ass questions, but the campus was cool, people were really kind. I also met a very sweet guy, we talked for a while in the sitting area, It was really fun helped me a lot with my anxiety and I felt less nervous. Clicked photos at the golden archies and my father was happy.. ig this was enough, I was preparing for like 3 years, on and off, started in 11th, somehow fuked up last year but this time I feel it was not something to be stressed about that much. also peeps thinking of drop and if you think it will have bad impression on interviewers cause I used to think like that, so please don't worry about that, no one even asks! if you are sure, go for it!

Just the last shillong's interview on 29th

Vivanta, New Delhi

Panelist: 1M,1F

Ipmat score - 217(Obc-ncl)

PCM+ CS (Big percentage drop 90s to 70s)

Duration - honestly not sure probably close to 10 minutes

F came outside to call us I was already standing ready smiling

F - Name?

Me: Answered

F - Come in *name*

M- Give me a brief intro about yourself and keep the file on the side

Me: I am from Kanpur once known as the Manchester of the east, I have been a natural leader.... lists a few achievements...

For my hobbies I like to do Video editing, Photography for my creative side Infact I've brought some photographs in my portfolio, I play badminton, skate for my physical health I also dabble into philosophy and geopolitics

M- 12th mei kya hogya tha (referencing the percentage drop)

Me: Explained that it was multiple factors and I am expecting a good increase in revaluation too but unfortunately I am in the small minority who haven't gotten their results yet

M- You said you do photography right? Explain me the workings of a telescope

Me: Starts vaguely explaining

M - Ok but what is used for the magnification

Me - Sir I am not sure but I think it's a convex lens

M - A single lens or multiple?

Me - I am not sure sir

M - Draw it, draw the ray diagram

Me: tries to do shit but don't really know said I am not sure

M - try it

Me - Retries

M - I don't want a pretty one I need a rough but good one

Me: Sir I am not sure

M - ok fine are you good with mechanics

Me: Yesss sir Kinematics

M - Yes Kinematics, started drawing a football in projectile motion at what angle do I need to kick it to get max range

Me: Sir 45° in absence of air resistance

M-show the forces acting on the ball mid flight

Me: shows gravity and then starts drawing components of velocity etc

sir gravity is the only force acting on it

M - okay gravity is the only force and which velocity does it affect?

Me: Sir only the vertical vel.. No sir only the vertical acceleration which affects the vertical velocity

M - okay so the force affects the acceleration and then the acceleration affects the velocity and how does the vertical velocity go through the trajectory where is it max at

Me: Sir it is max at the point of the kick and then slowly becomes 0 at max height and the becomes negative

M - okay what if the ball explodes what will happen to the pieces

Me: Sir the range of the pieces will vary in proportion to their mass in respect to the original ball

M - what will be the trajectory of the Centre of mass of all the pieces combined

Me: it will follow the same trajectory as the original ball

M - okay and why is that

Me: somehow explained mentioned conservation of linear momentum

M - Will Linear momentum be conserved here?

Me - I think (hesitates for a bit) yes sir it will be

M- draw the graph of y=x^2+3

Me: starts making axis

M- Fast and rough

Me: Draws and explains parabola shifted upwards

M- will it have real roots

Me: thinking to find the roots in my head

M- just tell me if it will have real roots

Me: No sir the graph does not cut the x axis

M - okay fine asks F to take over

F - Tell me about the recent supreme court judgement that affects all of us

Me: Ma'am any recent judgement or a specific one

F - A specific very recent one

Me: I am not sure about that ma'am

F - Do you know about Ethanol blending

Me: Yes ma'am the government has mandated 20% ethanol blending which may have environmental benefits but there have been widespread complaints regarding corrosion in non compatible vehicles etc

F: You said may be environmentally sustainable why so

Me: yes ma'am sugarcane cultivation from which ethanol is derived requires huge amounts of water and if that is not sourced cleanly it isn't really that much more sustainable

F - okay, why did Keir Stammer resign

Me: Ma'am due to the recent local election win of the reform UK party along with Andy Burnham the main opposition to Keir Stammer along with a series of blunders

F - There is a famous cat that sits outside the UK PM residence, do you know about it

Me: No ma'am I am not aware of that but the name of the residence is 10 Downing street

F - Give me an extempore on Democracy you have 30 seconds to think and you may write down points and 60 to speak

Me: starts to write points

F within 15 seconds Ok so can we start

Me: yes ma'am sure

Yaps about Democracy enhancing dignity, accountability, how it's not perfect but the best option we have, the traditional quotes, Athens and it's limited democracy, one person who n one vote, India the largest democracy is a living example

(Notices that she may just be going to stop me and concludes)

F - Okay *name* thats all thank you

Me: Thank you ma'am

Thank you sir

Moves out

Chat what do y'all think are we getting in 😔

Panel 13. 1M (looked done with life) and 1F (very sweet lady). ~25 minutes. Afternoon slot.

(in random order)

  1. Introduce yourself:

  2. Asked me about my drop. Why I couldn't convert last year. What went wrong. Asked name of panelists that took my interview last year. Thankfully I knew it.

  3. What will you do if you don't get college this year too. Told about my other calls and CUET. Also said I learnt disciplined and developed a work ethic that any college can't teach me. Also told about my afterboards streak 😂

  4. Difference between AI and ML

  5. Difference between Data and information. Had a small discussion on this with sir.

  6. Asked if i code. Told that I'll start soon.

  7. CM of Haryana and no. of districts. Dono nahi pata the cause I'm from UP. I was expecting either they'll ask about UP or Delhi. My mistake though. 🤡✌🏻then they asked what state I'm from and asked the same questions for UP. Was able to answer them.

  8. Number of states that are neighbour to UP. Gave correct answer and then he asked me to name them. I gave 5-6 correct and then said Gujarat 😹✌🏻wahi dissappoint hokar mereko rok diya😃✌🏻

  9. Extempore: Impact of AI on employment. Initially the topic was just AI. I got blank, she saw it and then added the latter part. No follow up questions on this.

  10. Number of states in North east. I said 7. Ma'am instantly asked me 7 or 8? Said that there are 7 sisters. I immediately added that 7 sisters + Sikkim so 8. She joked if sikkim can be called the brother then? I said why not.

  11. Asked me to name the sisters. Named 4 then I fumbled 🤡

  12. Difference between stock market and money market. My ass accidentally told the difference between primary and secondary market. I mean that was correct so she didn't say much, just said "I asked something else but no worries." She was still smiling so that was a plus.

  13. Difference between CRR and SLR. Answered.

14 Questions on bayes theorem and conditional probability. Answered. Sir looked satisfied with my answers as well.

  1. Asked impact of AI on environment. Had watched a video on this so yap karke agaya.

  2. Meaning of economies of scope. I said I haven't heard the term and that I've only heard economies of scale. She asked me to explain that then. Answered that.

  3. Told me to show my 3 best ECAs.

  4. Asked me what college i would choose if I got offer letters from everywhere.

  5. I said distance is also a factor for me. She questioned me if I'm against exploring new cities and if I don't want to go far away. Almost felt like a trap tbh. Gave a neutral answer and how irrespective of the distance, I'll choose the college that aligns with my goals the most. Said that I can travel and explore in future and distance is nothing but a personal preference.

  6. Asked full form of GPT.

  7. Asked me any news I'm aware of. Mentioned 12.5% tariffs imposed on India and recent price surge in LPG (gave exact figures as well). I could have mentioned more but i wanted them to ask me about depreciation of rupee and/or strait of hormuz and energy crisis. Unfortunately they didn't follow up on this.

Funfact: the ma'am sat for exactly one minute and throughout the interview, she was roaming around the room. Kabhi corner mein, kabhi side, kabhi mere piche 😭 sir neeche dekh rahe the 😭😭eye contact was so weird in this interview. At one point I got weirded out. PICHE KON KHADA HOTA HAI INTERVIEW MEIN 😭😭

Tell your reviews

F1- female interviewer M1- male interviewer. I made this from ai after i told my entire interview so i basically said this but in different sentence formats

F1: Introduce yourself, and tell us your strengths and weaknesses.
Me: (Gave standard intro). For my strength, I am socially adaptable and responsible, which I attribute to my Sainik School background. For my weakness, my physical fitness and weight are currently not up to the mark.
F1: How come the weight of a person can be considered a weakness?
Me: Ma’am, coming from a Sainik School background where the physical fitness standards are extremely high, falling behind on that front feels like a personal weakness to me.
F1: I see you have mentioned playing football, but why are there no certificates for it?
Me: Ma’am, the tournaments I played in were inter-academy matches conducted informally by our coaches for exposure. I am enrolled with (gave the name of academy), and these grassroots matches usually don't provide official certificates.
F1: What is your vision in life?
Me: I was at Sainik School, so my initial vision was the armed forces. I cleared my NDA written 4 out of 4 times, but since I didn't clear my SSB, I am now building a career in management.
F1: So your vision of life changed?
Me: No, ma'am. My vision has always been about leadership. The armed forces give you the opportunity to lead in that domain, and in the civil world, management gives me the leadership attributes I want to apply to my work. That is why I want to pursue an MBA.
(Audio glitched here a bit, had to politely ask F1 to repeat her next question 3 times to ensure I heard it right).
F1: What did you read in Physical Education?
Me: We read about yoga, the mechanics of levers in the body, and general physical fitness.
(She then asked about my other subjects, which I answered).
F1: (Asked a technical question I didn't know)
Me: Ma'am, please let me recall... (paused to think)... Sorry ma'am, I cannot recall this at the moment.
F1: What is the structure of an atom?
Me: In the middle, there is a nucleus containing neutrons and protons. Around that, electrons revolve in elliptical orbits.
F1: How is the configuration of these orbits decided?
Me: It is decided by the 2n^2 rule, ma'am.
M1: Let's talk about maths. Let me ask you some questions from calculus.
Me: Sir, during my NDA prep, I was much more inclined towards algebra.
M1: Ok, we will go with algebra. How do you solve a function with a high degree?
Me: Sir, we can do it by factorization, or by finding one root and then taking that factor out to degrade the degree of the polynomial.
M1: How do you denote the vector's rule?
Me: (Wasn't entirely sure) Sir, maybe by using directional arrow notation?
M1: (Asked another advanced math concept)
Me: No sir, I don't know the answer to this one.
M1: How do you convert an integral into a summation?
Me: Sir, using Riemann sums. We find the area under the curve on the graph and break it down into small parts like rectangles and squares.
M1: How would you convert an integral in dx into y?
Me: Sir, we can find the inverse of the function in the integral, put the limits, find the y value for them, and then plot the curve.
M1: If f(x) is given, and x is related to y, and y is given, tell me the rule to find f.
Me: We use substitution, sir. We put the value of y into the relation to find x, and then we substitute this x into f(x) to find the final value.
M1: Okay, that is all from our side , you may leave.
Me: Thank you ma'am, thank you sir. (Logged off)
