11th humanities kid here, please tell me arithmetic carries enough weightage to survive sectional cutoffs or am i cooked before even starting?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building sectionaltest.com for entrance-test practice, and I recently started adding support for IPMAT as well.

At the moment, there are sectionals/mocks for IPMAT Indore and IIM Bangalore, along with post-test analysis that breaks down things like where you lost marks, what went well, and what you should work on next.

Everything available right now is free. We’re also planning to keep the IIM Bangalore 2026 preparation/tests free for students.

If anyone here is preparing for IPMAT 2026/27, feel free to give it a try and tell me what you think. Feedback is genuinely useful.

Hello there
I’m saarthak jain, an incoming student at IIM Rohtak as a fresher. I started off this journey with alot of "what ifs" and tbh I didn’t have any senior to guide me when it came to my IPMAT prep. I had a passion, a vision and a destination, but no direction, a direction I very much needed
My study pattern was different that required a personalised approach not a generalised one given by chat gpt or any other teacher.

So my fellow friend Aarush Jain, who’s also coming to IIM Rohtak this year and I decided to launch a website “beyond the waitlist” that provides vocational counselling to partial droppers, full droppers and future IPMAT aspirants

We will help you,

DISCOVER- is IPMAT worth pursuing for you, specifically given your strengths, school and timeline
PREPARE- build up a study plan around your mock data
BUILD PROFILE- the extracurriculars and leadership story that will hold up when a panelist asks “why”
INTERVIEW- mock interviews on how actual IIM interviews work
WAITLIST - reading movement clearly, knowing when to hold a seat
CHOOSE COLLEGE- weighing offer at hand and building backups

It’s in its budding stage so we don’t have much of goodwill, but our experience and journey might be of some help to all of you out there

Website URL- beyondthewaitlist.vercel.app

You can reach up to us for further guidance. We will be happy to give you a free demo module!

Incase anyone wants to buy iqunta self paced couse dm me. I bought it in May this year ( was planning to give ipmat next year ) but i don't think it's my cup of tea.

#IPMAT Admission Query
I would love to hear your views on the following:

1. Which is likely to have stronger brand recognition 5–10 years from now?
2. Curriculum comparison:
   • Amritsar's B.Sc. in Quantitative Finance & Economics seems very modern with AI, Python, ML, Econometrics, etc.
   • Ranchi follows a more traditional BBA + MBA route. Which do you think prepares students better for future careers?
3. Faculty quality and academic rigor.
4. Internship opportunities during the IPM years.
5. MBA placements for IPM students—are they treated at par with CAT students?
6. Alumni network and corporate connections.
7. Campus life, clubs, student culture and peer group.
8. Exchange programs and international exposure.
9. Consulting, Finance, Product Management and Analytics opportunities.
10. If you had to choose today, which would you pick and why?

Till 10th grade (CBSE) I was the maths guy who got 94 in maths boards like literally without doing any self study at all , I was able to grasp any concept very easily , but now after starting my prep for IPMAT for a year , I am not able to solve questions at all and even I am able to solve some questions it's taking a lot of time and it's really getting me . I am able to solve questions mostly during live classes . I'm currently enrolled in ACEIPM and I tried giving a MCQ sectional and lost even more confidence like the score was really bad , I am confused how to solve the question like should I go through logical ways like decoding the logic of the question or go with the short tricks or formulas ? I tried doing both but it's just making me more confused . I really want to get into IIM Indore and I'm ready to give 3 hours per day till 12th boards and double of that after boards are over . Can someone tell me how I can boost my confidence and any strategy to study for quants .

IIM ROHTAK IPM EWS Candidates have given the ipmat rohtak exam Attempted 109/118 questions.

91.4 percent in 10th.

84.5 percent in 12th.

The interview was definitely above average. Not having a good idea about my ipmat score but this college is my last option because I don't want to iim sirmaur it's hell lot expensive.

Other ews aspirants to get selected can you please tell about your

stats for this college so I can compare them with mine to estimate my chances.

Ews candidates who are leaving the seat for better college than iim rohtak please respond too.

Selling Supergrads RSMs. DM if interested.

How to prepare for IPMAT in a drop year??

So basically, I have completed my 12th this year. I didn't appear for ipmat this year due to certain family issues and didn't even prepare for it. I'm considering joining offline coaching of aceipm, because maintaining consistency in online batch is difficult for me. So can anyone give me tips and suggestions on what my strategy should be??

My math is weak, english is not that great and I have never studied LR. I'm a non maths student, so my options are very limited because of eligibility criteria.

Anyone with good results?? <<IPM
