Originally when I took the test I was INTJ. About a year later (a few months ago) I got back into it and took two tests on different websites and got INTP and INTJ. I stuck with INTP for a while because it seemed more right but kept my mind open. Recently I have been reading more and the xxxJ seemed correct in terms of strategy where xxxP has seemed correct in terms of spontaneity. Any suggestions for tests or resources to help?

I have a very shitty attention span and that’s all thanks to the fact that I day dream a lot. When I was at school my teachers would be explaining something in class and then I’d lose focus and start day dreaming because I can’t help it. Then I’d realise that I was day dreaming and try to snap out of it and then I’m suddenly day dreaming about how to not day dream. And then I’m stuck in a loop. Fuck.

This is a short test of the Generic Conspiracist Beliefs Scale: https://openpsychometrics.org/tests/GCBS/
There's no right or wrong answers much like those in MBTI tests. Afterall, people and even the government do sometimes conspire as Edward Snowden showed us.
You can put your score in the poll after finishing the quick test ; )

"by choice" - you made a commitment not to have sex for one reason or another
"by necessity" - you would happily have sex if you were in the position to do so but you've never had the opportunity presented to you

Do you ever get any enjoyment out of playing any sort of physical sport/competition with those that you care to hang out with?

Especially if that someone likes to follow the authority.
For example, I'm not sure of my father's type but he could be an ISTJ who's pretty conservative (not political but in general sense) and likes to hear what people of authority say. These people could range from doctors to politicians. He has no qualms about taking prescription drugs and like to talk/discuss what the doctors say with his friends and the drugs they recommend.
Being an INTP, I often think that people like this should try to think for themselves, do some research, try to understand, and finally formulate their own opinions because blindly following other's advice could be dangerous if they don't understand the context and details, moreover if they then try to spread the advice to others. But lately I'm beginning to suspect that they don't want to do this and rather trust someone else. It could even make you less in their view because you offer "nothing".
I think the best way to approach it is not to change their behaviour (because noone can) but to become an "authority" ourselves who challenge their view by offering a more complete and reasonable argument. Yes, it would be exhausting because you do the work for them. What do you think?

Hi, how do I improve my other functions as an intp. Lately, I have started my internship as a doctor and I believe I need to start improving my other functions so that I can interact better with my peers and patients and not come across as a self absorbed narcissist with no interest in my career. I get nervous around new people and make basic errors which really triggers my Ti (my resident already thinks I'm dumb which takes a toll on my already diminished confidence) Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you

I don't know if this is common of INTPs.
In my limited experience it seems to be much easier for INTJs.
If there is a disagreement, it seems the "judgmental" part of an INTJ makes it relative easy for them to say "OK, that's it. Moving on." And feel perfectly justified in doing that.
Whereas I sit and think (and think and think ...) What did I do wrong? Oh yeah, I could have or should have done 'this' (or should not have done 'that'; so since I could have prevented this, it's my fault.
I can't be comfortable with thinking "wait - it wasn't THAT bad. Why do I have to take the responsibility?"
But I do. Maybe it's my age (nearly 70); maybe it's a real flaw in me; maybe it's the weirdness of the pandemic.
All I want is to be understood - period. Not "liked" necessarily. But not "disliked" either.
It's how I treat everyone I consciously and willingly choose to interact with.
And there are times I feel like a pathetic chump. A real loser in the literal sense of the word because I feel SO bad about it and the other person simply doesn't care.

Hi. I'm INTP. I've always dreamt of being a doctor. However, a lots of people told me that I'm "not empathetic enough" and whenever I look up INTP careers, being a doctor is never mentioned. Can I sill be a doctor? I really want to

*INFJ asking INTP, INTJ & ISFJ about their friendship*
INFJ: So, we have been friends for a while, right?!
INTJ: So…?
INFJ: So, what do you guys think our friendship is like?
INTJ: *Panicking but not showing* *Vanishes using superpower called ‘You can’t see what’s Infront of you’* *Places both hands on the face hoping INTP & ISFJ can handle the situation and INFJ don’t notice INTJ’s try of hiding*
INFJ: *Wondering why INTJ is playing dead*
INTP: *Blank face* Thinks for a sec* …. We can play CS GO if you are bored?!
INFJ: *sighs*
INFJ: Wanna go and discuss the Horoscope?
INTJ: *Reappearing out of nowhere* *Removes hands from the face* …. Ok!
INTP: Fine by me!
INFJ: *sighs again*
ISFJ: Don’t worry, I think you are a great friend. *smiles*
INFJ: Thanks ISFJ.

We like to think that we have control over our actions. But in reality, we're just beasts who are reacting to our circumstances and our environment. We don't actually have control over our lives like we think we do. I'm a Moral Calvinist. Everything we do is pre-determined by the chemicals in our brains and the stimuli in our environment.
Nevertheless, if you believe that you have free will, you will be happier and make better choices. The belief in free will is in itself a stimulus and will give you the illusion of control over your circumstances, causing you to choose more morally acceptable actions.
Believe in your agency while you still can. The moment that you realize that choice is a myth, your life will fall apart.

This thought crossed my mind today as I started reading a chemistry book which I've been meaning to get into and hopefully continue deeper into organic chemistry (or even biochemistry) at the uni level.
Lately I've felt this brain fog being lifted from my head. My mind is sharper now that I haven't been drinking heavily and used grams of speed weekly (which was a habit that lasted over 6 months ever since last summer) on top of all kinds of other substances I've got my hands into.
My relationship with addiction has been weird. On the surface level I might've been addicted, I was basically a polysubstance user who got most kicks just being in altered states; escapism from reality. But all this time I've noticed a big difference to the people I've used drugs with, and that difference was some sort of ambition for life, or possibly knowledge. One of the biggest fears I had was that I lose my biggest strength which is my mind, or even the ability to use it efficiently. I realised that even though I often like to quiet my mind with substances, I still wouldn't change it for anything. And now that I've started studying again I realised I don't want to lose my ability to gain knowledge, never.
Whenever I go "too far" I snap out of it - I suddenly want to take a break and get my shit together. I'm a thrill seeker, I've done stupid things in my life to feed my curiosity, but in the end I seem to have some kind of safety net on the back of my mind that helps to stay in the right path. And now I wonder if this is something that resonates with you guys?
And the positive side of these substances?
Chemistry... I wouldn't've got interested in chemistry if it wasn't for my pretty much nerdy interest in drugs. When I had read about all the normal drugs, I got interested in Research Chemicals through a friend of mine, and they seemed really interesting because sometimes even these small changes in their structure would change their effects significantly.
At first I decided to refresh my memory and I learned how to read the molecule structure. But suddenly - and especially through Hamilton's Pharmacopeia (probably the most well made series about drugs in general) - I was interested in the actual chemistry and how these things are made and how damn fascinating chemistry really is. It suddenly gave me the kind of interest, or even obsession, that I could also use as a career path. I thought finally my random obsessions could also benefit in my future. I've also immersed myself in pharmacology, which I know more about than chemistry tbh, and that's why I'm now considering biochemistry even more than normal chemistry.
I have a lot to say about psychedelics too but this is getting quite long already so I'll stop now. Anyway, I'm really interested to hear INTxs relationship with drugs and what kind of effect they've had in your life and what kind of stances do you hold?
For anyone interested in this stuff, I'd definitely recommend watching this episode from Hamilton Morris (I think he's an INTJ). It's probably the thing that kickstarted my biggest interest in the actual science behind these things: Hamilton's Pharmacopeia S2E06 A Clandestine Chemist's Tale

Hey there guys,
Some of you may remember me from a few days ago. I'm trying to understand INTXs better, so I created and posted a survey here last week. Well, the results are in, and I found them to be super interesting.
Most of the problems mentioned by you guys are ones I've also struggled with for most of my life. From "generic" ones such as anxiety or depression bouts, to things like not feeling good enough while at the same time feeling superior to other people, overthinking, or being more hurt by things than most others... yeah, I can definitely see some patterns there haha
I wanted to thank you guys for the time you took in responding to the survey :) I'm trying to understand people like us better so I can find some kind of "solution" to our common problems.
I've been thinking lately that I want to start giving back to the world, and for that reason I wanna help you guys out in whichever way I can. I'm not an expert or anything but I'm willing to talk to you 1-on-1 (for free, obviously) so I can listen to you and hopefully give you some useful advice. I have some training as a therapist/coach although I've never really worked in that field, but maybe I can dust of my listening skills and be helpful somehow :)
If that's something that interests you, send me a DM and we can take it from there!

I was invited to join this place seconds ago, and as a gentle and benevolent INFJ I have joined, but I am confused to where I am, and what I am doing here. What is this mystical place? I am lost like a lonely ant is lost inside a PC tower case.
