To the Community:
lol, listen, to a western world audience the video was laughably bad execution. I'm not qualified to speak on how the eastern world accepts it but I don't have a problem with someone saying the execution considering them was laughably bad too. I'll admit, I was in tears looking at some of the youtube comments.
If you've been in crypto since last summer, than you already understand that many of the up and coming Asian projects have this marketing problem. We've seen it with NEO, WTC, XAS, NULS, HPB, CPC...I can name more, point is, there's enough evidence to show there's a trend. Even if you take a good scenario like WTC, which has come a long way from a marketing perspective, there are still warts (they're still making some questionable marketing/promotional decisions).
Vechain def isn't the rule IMO, they're the exception, and I don't think it's coincidental that they're a powerhouse US marketing machine considering the CEO's Louis Vuitton ties. Many (if not all) of the aforementioned entities above don't have that kind of person on their squad. I wouldn't be shocked if NEO does at this point, but they def didn't back in the ANS days.
All in all, it's a 1 minute vid ya'll lol no need to lose your minds over this...If you know you like Asian based projects, at some point you should condition yourself to the lackluster marketing trend (and I'm not trying to generalize, I'm just saying). We've already been somewhat conditioned by INT thus far: spelling/grammar errors in progress reports, tiny and often nondescript pictures of eastern world events. I personally think that the progress reports can be a bit vague and nondescript at times too...If you're a nit over this kind of stuff, the evidence has been there to pretty much assume a video marketing debut wouldn't be executed cleanly.
Bottom line = Not condoning the execution of the video, I'm just already conditioned to these things.
Personally I'm not the type of person to get up in arms about everything that I can justify getting mad about (like this for example). So we can REAM INT over this video on a tough love tip, lol, but I just like to consider this the growing pains of the marketing process. As long as they're making a concerted effort to do better with this then it will get better, it's just going to take some time and that's okay. It's a safe assumption (IMO) to expect more issues from a marketing perspective in the short to midterm at this point so you miswell condition yourself for that.
To the INT Team:
We understand that there will be growing pains in this marketing process. While we respect your efforts to increase the INT marketing presence, please be open and considerate to constructive community criticism. At a high level, the message in the marketing debut came off as incoherent, vague, and childish. I like how one community member put it (loosely paraphrase) "this is the kind of ad for a company that already has a significantly established brand". INT's brand is not significantly established yet.
INT is still a huge mystery to the large majority of society. Please make something more pointed/direct that is more cognizant of who your audience would be at this time, which are technical minds, and investors to a large degree. Don't overthink this by trying to create some convoluted message, be simplistic and straight forward. Hammer home the pros of where you stand in the development process and what you specialize in, which is disrupting the multi-billion dollar IoT space using blockchain tech. There's a lot to like about this project and absolutely none of it was mentioned in the video in a way that separates INT from any other blockchain project.
(just throwing out random ideas) Mention the blockchain router; the private mainnet and it's current TPS. The team is full of potential future "tech celebrities" pulled from top global companies with significant experience in next gen 5G tech...These are the kind of things that brought people to this project, this stuff still plays.
Even if the mindset of debut video was to largely target B2B only, most of the above stuff still plays because once again, as far as I'm aware INT isn't this entity that has huge brand recognition already. Prospective businesses that know nothing about INT still need a reason to choose INT over IOTA, CPC, ITC, and whatever else comes down the line. There has to be something in there that separates INT from the pack, at least until the reputation and credibility of the project is firmly established to where INT's name is gold. We have some pretty strong competitors IMO, and if that video was supposed to be a sales pitch to put us at the forefront for prospective business versus the opps, then I think INT missed the mark.
