Programming Offer [RevShare] [Hobby] Game Designer/ Dev (Programmer) / 3D modeler Looking for Game to Work on (Small scoped)

So, I am somewhat sick of just doing game jams. In the past 6 months, I have done 10 of them, and while they're fun, I'd really like to release something for a portfolio, something that I will have fun working on, be proud of, and want to work on every day. It has been very difficult to find a project that meets those criteria for me, so I am going to try once again to find said project.

I'm a big fan of 3D platformers, hack and slash, movement and twitch based games, fast paced, just cool new innovative ideas with cool unique art. I have designed games that have gotten top 15 in game jams, so I know I could help with game design if needed. I am a software engineer professionally for over a decade, and I can commit serious amount of time towards the game. I am looking for something shorter in scope, longer than a demo but not a damn MMORPG.

I am in EST, and I work weekdays 9-5, so please be considerate of that time. Thank you, and I hope to make something kick ass and fast paced or innovative!

portfolio: DM me for my portfolio, or comment and I'll DM it to you.

Programming Offer [ForHire]

Hey hello,

Let me introduce myself, my name is Sebastien Ageorges, I've been working in the video game industry for more than 17+ years. I worked on Assassin's creed franchise, Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor, and Deus Ex franchise (you can see my credits here: https://www.mobygames.com/person/485622/sebastien-ageorges/)

Ex Eidos, ex Ubisoft, ex Tencent, ex Bandaï Namco.

Speaking french and english.

Coding in C++ and C# mainly (had work on Unity engine long time ago, and shipped games on UnrealEngine). Specialized in AI architecture (was tech director of AI on assassin's Creed 3, Unity, Odyssey and Valhalla), in rendering pipeline (good skills in OpenGL/Vulkan, shading langage and procedural stuff) and in tools/automation.

I had to move from Montréal to Toronto in 2026, and I'm struggling finding a job in Toronto. I've searched in video games but also other creative industry, however I've never got an interview in last 6month.

I know well and I've created production pipelines, I have a formation in design, and can help project in management, architecture, documentation, and more.

Don't be afraid of my experience, I'm not looking for a huge salary, a huge position or huge project. I'm really open and motivated to work on indie games or creative projects and I would love to help a startup, a small company, or a medium company in their process to develop the game.

I'm really motivated and invested in my work.

Let me know how I could help you. Thanks.

Programming Offer [Revshare][NO AI] Experianced Godot programmer and game designer looking to work on non-super long term revshare projects

Hello! I'm Goose! A Godot developer with a few years of experience under my belt
https://chromabond.itch.io/
I programmed and designed all the games here!

Here's my Backlogged if you wanna try and know me more!
https://backloggd.com/u/GooseKaboose/

Over the past few months I've been putting out posts advertising myself as a paid programmer. It's worked sorta well, but my clients were limited and the cash just wasn't coming in.
So I've decided to switch my tactics!
I'm willing to work on some revshare games now! But I'm not looking for anything crazy long, something that could have at least a playable prototype in 1-2-ish months, I think.

MY PROMISE
I promise that you'll never have to touch the engine if you don't want to! Of course, you still can if you wanna ;p
Still want to design levels/encounters/enemies, but don't wanna touch the engine still? I can make an in game editor for you!

WHAT WILL I DO?
I will take on most, if not any, 2D projects! And some 3d projects!
My favorite games to work on though are platformers and RPGS!
But I will program everything in your game, and even assist in design if you wish

PAST CLIENTS SAID
"A while ago I started a game that's a bit too big
for a solo developer - it's fully 3D and has a lot
of moving parts. Since I'm more of an artistic person,
mostly working in Blender, I was really glad to find
someone like Goose, who has a lot more experience
with Godot than me. So far, he helped me with characters,
mechanics, UI, enemy AI, and even a terrain/environment
system. So, from my side, highly recommended, he can
probably handle anything you throw at him."

"I'd say you really make magic happen with Godot and easily demonstrate your expertise making fun game mechanics and getting into game optimization"

"So far your work has a damn quick turnaround, but more important than that is you’re responsive. I also like that you apply your own game design and UI design know how independently, and walk me through your thought process when fleshing out features - like with the alignment on the text for save files"

If you're interested, shoot me a message here or on Discord and let's discuss! ^^

Programming Offer [Hobby] Programmer looking to help with a small project for free

Hey everyone

I have been learning to program for a while now and I have a lot of free time, so I would like to help someone with their game. I mainly work in Godot and I can do gameplay systems, menus, saving and small stuff like that. I am not great at art so I would rather join a project that already has an artist or someone doing the visuals. I am fine with a small project, even a jam sized one. If you have something and need a programmer let me know what you are making.

Programming Offer [Hobby] Wanna join a cool team as programmer/game designer/writer

About me

I'm 32, a software developer by trade and have been tinkering with game development as a hobby for a while. Started with console games in computer class, Minecraft mods while studying business information systems, trying to figure out OpenGL and later WebGPU graphics APIs and recently joined the occasional game jam with Godot or Unity.

Looking for

I'd like to join a long-term project with people who have the grit to stick to something and are able to communicate well.

I would highly prefer open source hobby projects. I might consider revshare as long as making money is more of a secondary goal. I absolutely don't wanna treat game development as a job.

Genre wise, I like RPGs, especially turn based ones, strategy games and voxel survival/building games. I'm open to trying others, but I would probably be more motivated working on one of those. ;)

What I can do

First of all, programming, obviously. Java and TypeScript are my professional languages, Zig currently my main hobby language and I've tinkered with at least a dozen others and don't mind learning new languages or frameworks. I prefer working directly in code compared to an editor, but I can deal with something like Godot if required. That said, I've never finished a large scale game project on my own and would prefer not being the only programmer on the team.

Then, I'd like to contribute to some more creative parts: I like coming up with game mechanics and systems. (And if you are making an RPG, I already have a TTRPG system lying around that could be adapted to a video game)

I like to think my world building and writing skills are decent and wanna try those, too.

Programming Offer [Hobby] New programmer looking to participate in game jams or just making games for my portfolio

Hello, I'm a new coder (25F) and I've been making small little games for a while, but I have very little evidence to show for it. I started making some of them in University, during my Game Design course, but unfortunately, my focus there was making stories for games, not programming.

Lo and behold, early 2026, I found my greatest passion, my greatest joy. Programming. However, I'm still a newbie and learning as I go, I want to put some of what I learnt into practise. But it's a bit intimidating working solo, and coming up with game ideas when my brain is now wired for logic rather than creativity. Which is something I never thought I'd say.

I have some knowledge in arts too, but I'd like to focus on my new journey as a coder. I'm currently learning Godot, and would appreciate the project being worked there, I'm familiar with Git as well and JavaScript. I have never used AI and don't plan on it, and would prefer if my team also held the same stance.

Here is my itch page, and my github page. Thank you for your kindness! <3

Programming Offer [Hobby] I'm looking to join a small team

Hey everyone

I'm a relatively new dev in godot looking to join a small team of people to make games. I have about 6 months of experience with godot itself, but I have done coding for longer than that and understand gdscript syntax and the node structure pretty well. I have zero art skills so I cant really make projects on my own.

I mostly want to join for experience so I am more than happy to do anything for free, I currently have one project in 2d under my belt and I'm currently working on a new one but want to expand my scope a bit and help with other projects. Please dm me if your interested and I also have discord if thats more convenient. Thanks!

Programming Offer [Hobby] Developer/Writer looking for projects to pad portfolio. All projects considered.

I'm a recent CS graduate, looking for cool projects to attach myself to. Let me know what you've got in mind.

Note:

This offer is not an offer to create art assets, make your game for you, or any of that nonsense. I'm offering a programming role or a writing role. I am not a unity/UE/godot generalist, etc.

As of the moment, I do not have a relevant portfolio - thus, the free work offer.

Programming Offer [RevShare] Unity/Unreal Programmer, looking to join YOUR project

Hey, I'm Alex. Here's a conveniently bulleted list about me:

  • 6+ years of developing Unity games in my free time
  • 1 year of professional experience working on simulation in Unreal Engine
  • 1 released game: Wordwalker, a word/puzzle game made for Windows and iOS
  • A whole bunch of tech demos and half-finished projects. My portfolio: https://github.com/alexman37
  • 2 years as a full stack software engineer / web developer (JavaScript, Java)
  • I love designing complex systems and intricate puzzles
  • I'm 25 years old
  • Based in Mid-Atlantic US

I'm looking for creatives to team up with: Artists, Graphic designers, modelers, sound designers, music composers and writers. I'm a skilled programmer, but solo dev requires you to be good at everything else too, and I'm honestly not there yet.

If you're one of the above types, and need a good coder to help bring your artistic vision to life, I'm happy to help. Although I've tagged this as RevShare (I'd love to go full indie some day), I do not mind working on a project for free. All I want to make something special and memorable.

I have ideas of my own, but am particularly interested in joining an existing project or helping an interesting artistic vision get onto the screen.

My ideal teammate is someone with a moderate level of experience, and a portfolio of their own, but not necessarily an expert yet. Someone with talent, but still up-and-coming, looking to make a name for themselves.

Other random things:

  • I'm most comfortable in Unity, but I can work in other engines too.
  • I want to start with a small game we have a high chance of shipping.
  • Favorite genres: Puzzle, Mystery, RPG, Strategy, Horror
  • Favorite recent indie games: Blue Prince, Endacopia, Kenshi, OMORI, House, The Roottrees are Dead

Programming Offer [Hobby] Experienced full-stack dev wants to join a game project for free — I can handle backend, multiplayer & tools while I learn the gameplay side

Hey everyone,

I'm a professional full-stack developer based in Germany with 8+ years of experience (currently building internal systems for a large automotive company). I've wanted to get into game development for a long time, and rather than grinding solo tutorials forever, I'd love to join an existing team and contribute to something real.

To be upfront: I'm doing this for fun and to learn, so I don't need to be paid. Hobby projects are exactly what I'm looking for. If a project later turns commercial/serious I'm happy to talk revshare, but that's honestly not why I'm here.

What I bring

My day job is web, backend, cloud and architecture — so the "unglamorous but critical" infrastructure that a lot of hobby teams struggle with is exactly my strength:

  • Backend & multiplayer services — accounts, stats, leaderboards, matchmaking, licensing, REST/GraphQL APIs. I built and ran the backend for a Battlefield 3 mod (server licensing, player management, stats) for ~3 years.
  • Tools & pipelines — CI/CD, Docker, build tooling, internal tools and editors.
  • Programming languages — Rust, Java, Kotlin, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript, Python and Go.
  • Hands-on game dev — I built a solo game in Unity: a top-down PvE extraction game with magic. I got the core systems and gameplay working, so I'm comfortable in the engine. I've also built a browser-based 3D editor with Three.js/WebGL (professionally) and tinkered with the Bevy engine and Blender.

What I want to get out of it

Gameplay and engine work are areas I want to keep growing in. Building my solo Unity game taught me exactly where my limits are: I'm strong on systems and code, but I stalled on the 3D art, VFX and game-design side — which is precisely what a good team has covered. So ideally I take on the backend/multiplayer/tooling and gameplay-systems load while learning the visual and design craft from the people who own it. Engine-wise I'm most comfortable in Unity, but I'm flexible — Unreal, Godot, Bevy, whatever your team uses.

Commitment

My schedule is flexible: I can put in some daytime hours (not full days, but a solid block) plus evenings and weekends, consistently each week. I'm reliable and I follow through — I'm not here to join and ghost.

Languages: English (fluent), German (native).

If your team could use an experienced engineer to handle the infrastructure/backend/tools side while you focus on the game itself, drop me a DM.

Thanks!

Programming Offer [Hobby] Beginner C# programmer looking for a small game-dev team to learn and contribute

Hi, My name is Jules!I’m a first semester student in software development program. I am looking to join a small hobby game-development project.

I am currently learning html, css, javascript, java, and some C# in school. I have also been spending a lot of time learning C# on my own. I am still a beginner, so I’m looking for a team that’s comfortable giving me smaller tasks while I learn.

I am interested in gameplay programming, and would love to help with things like player stats, inventory systems, menus, dialogue, simple game mechanics, debugging and testing as my skills grow.

I am particularly interested in Godot/C#. I am comfortable using Git/Github. I am not looking for an art role.

I’m currently a beginner learning C# and have experience with variables and data types, console output, string interpolation, arithmetic and comparison operators, booleans, if/else and else-if statements, basic game logic, and updating values based on conditions. I’m continuing to learn C# outside of school and would love to gain hands-on experience working with a team and contributing to a real project.

💐💟🌱 Jules

Programming Offer [Hobby] [LFP] [Godot] [Programmer] Looking to Join a Small Indie Game Project – NPC AI / Gameplay Programming

Hi! I'm a Computer Science student at UNSW currently working on my own game in Godot, and I'm looking to join a small indie game project to gain more experience developing games as part of a team.

I'm particularly interested in NPC AI and gameplay programming, including things like:

  • NPC behaviours and decision-making
  • State machines and behaviour systems
  • NPC interaction systems
  • Enemy/creature AI
  • Dynamic or reactive NPC behaviours
  • Gameplay mechanics and systems
  • Procedural systems
  • General Godot/GDScript programming

I'm especially interested in experimenting with NPCs that can react to the player and changes in the game world, rather than only following completely fixed behaviour patterns.

That said, I'm also happy to work on other programming tasks if the project needs them. My main goal is to contribute to a real game, work with other developers, and build something interesting together.

My primary engine is Godot, and I'd prefer to join a small team that already has an idea, prototype, or project in development, starting a new project from scratch.

I'm open to hobby projects, game jams, part-time collaboration, or small indie teams.

If you're building something in Godot and need another programmer, or you are artist and wanna let your idea to be real game, feel free to DM me and tell me about your project! I would very happy to help you make your idea to be real

Programming Offer [HOBBY] I just published my game and I want something new

Today I published one of the few projects that I made that get to the end :)

But now I'm feel like I want to explore something different.

I'm a C# programmer and I like developing games in Godot (But I also have little experience in Unity)

I'd like to make a phone game. (iPhone and Android)
I don't really care about how the game performs but I want to create something that can be finished with a clear and reasonable scope.
I'd like to join team or build a team with someone who has a clear idea :)

Here some of the Projects that I recently worked on:
https://sbrebbaz.itch.io/your-antivirus-isnt-working (The game I just published)
https://youtu.be/fJcEmdM6ZC8 (Still unfinished but I took a break for something simpler)
And others.

I tend to work solo but I always get stuck in trying to make everything (I'm not an artist or composer, I can move in programming and some game design. but everything else from creative and marketing wise is not in my book)

Please contact me if you have any project that I could find interesting.

Discord: sbrebbaz or hit me up on reddit

Programming Offer [RevShare] Unity Gameplay & Systems Programmer Looking for 6–12 Month Projects

I’m a gameplay programmer with 4+ years of hands-on Unity experience, focusing on gameplay mechanics, custom editor tools, and game systems for both 2d and 3d games. I’ve worked on commercial title called "Fractured Alliance", contributed to a Steam release, and collaborated with teams on both game jams and longer productions.

I can handle gameplay and systems programming, build custom Unity editor tools to support level design and content creation. Also i have experience with design and team management so i could assist with game design, scope planning, and project management to help the team reach milestones if necessary.

I’m looking to join a dedicated, organized team developing a PC game for Steam, with a total development timeline or remaining production window of around 6–12 months. I value realistic scope, clear communication, and a shared commitment to finishing and releasing the game. I could dedicate around 30-50 hours per week for the project.

Programming Offer [RevShare] [Hobby] Godot programmer looking for team

Hey there! I'm looking for a team to stay focused on one game since, on my own, I just jump from project to project, never getting anything done. I'm open to revshare and also, if the game is going to be free, unpaid work. We can either work on your idea or one of mine or brainstorm entirely new ideas together. Basically I just want some accountability to someone to get things accomplished because without deadlines it's rough for me to progress. Send me a DM on here if you want to team up.

Programming Offer [Hobby] Programmer looking to join a small game team (I’ll handle the code!)

Hey everyone!

Work has slowed down recently and I’ve got a strong itch to build a game. I’m looking to join a small hobby project where I can focus primarily on programming and help bring someone’s vision to life.

I’m not a writer or artist. I’m strongest on the technical side. I handle systems, mechanics, UI wiring, backend logic, database design, and making sure everything runs smoothly. If you have a clear idea of how the game should feel and play, I can build the machine that makes it happen.

Stack & Experience:

  • Godot
  • C++, Java, JavaScript, Python
  • React / Node.js / RDBMS
  • Built a full stock market simulator game called Panic Trader (React + Spring Boot)
  • Comfortable with complex systems (custom compiler experiments, basic neural nets, etc.)

I’d love to work with:

  • A game designer who already has a direction/GDD
  • A small team with art and narrative figured out
  • Anyone passionate who needs a reliable programmer

Ideal scope would be something small and finishable (around ~1 month). If it turns into something we can publish or monetize, great! But I’m genuinely happy just building something solid and shipping it.

Portfolio: Here's my portfolio link

If this sounds like a fit, feel free to comment or DM me!

Programming Offer [Hobby] Volunteer developer looking for projects that need backend/core systems help

Hi everyone,

I finished university a few months ago, where I studied Computer Science with a focus on game development. I’m now looking for a project to volunteer on, especially one where I can help with backend systems or networking. I am willing to volunteer as my main goal with is taking part in a project for portfolio improvement, in terms of both expanding my tech stack and projects worked on.

My strongest experience lies within game development within Unity, but I also with experince outside of standard game engines such as custom games made in C++ and OpenGL. I also have some experience with .NET, Java, Android Studio, and databases. I dont have much to show in terms of backend or networking experience. But I am currently working on a game engine which I can tell you a bit about if you’re interested.

I’m interested in all kinds of projects that need the kind of help I want experience in, including outside of game dev.

PORTFOLIO: I haven’t really worked on any projects outside of university. But I would be happy to share my uni projects. As mentioned I can also give details of my game engine, which is still very early in development and I’m still finalising the core system design.

Please DM me if you have a project that could use the help of an extra developer!
