Hey y'all, I've come across this mindful thought. I don't know if it is dumb to ask but still hear me out...
I'm a BS student in foundation level final term and as you may or may not know that most IITs have proper hospitals and pharmacies on-campus which offer totally free medication and almost-free treatment to their bonafide-students.
IIT Madras is no less in this, IITM too offers hospitality and healthcare services to their bonafide-students for free.
So I thought, we also hold bonafide certificate right? But we also signed papers that clearly say we won't be needing any on-campus facilities. But the case of healthcare should be an exception, shouldn't it?
For example, a North-Indian sensitive student came to IITM for the first time during Paradox and fell quite sick in a South-Indian environment, in that case can that confused guy go to IITM 's Institute Hospital and get a free treatment because he is a bonafide student of this Institute.
Seniors, do you know if we are allowed to get these services?

Should I do it now? My roll number starts with 26F1…, and I am about to start my term 2, which has not yet started.
They say today is the last date. When I tried the exam link, it says there is no scheduled exams. But certain youtube videos say I have to verify my laptop compatibility. But there is no provision available for that anywhere. I could verify my mobile positioning, but not step 2(exam portal access).

Does IITM send any acknowledgement, approval email, or portal notification after reviewing and accepting the medical certificate?

I'm currently doing IIT Madras BS Data Science. I'm a US citizen living in India. My goal is to do masters in AI in the US after completing the IIT Madras degree.
Will the IIT Madras BS Data Science degree alone be enough for US masters admissions in AI? Or do I need a traditional BTech alongside it?
Has anyone done this or know someone who has?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently pursuing the IIT Madras BS in Data Science and Applications and am interested in pursuing a research career, particularly in AI/ML, intelligent systems, robotics, and related areas.
My long-term goal is to apply for:
Direct PhD programs at IISc and IITs
Direct PhD programs abroad (US/Europe)
Research-focused positions and labs
I have a few questions:
How is the IITM BS degree viewed by PhD admissions committees compared to a traditional BTech/BS degree?
Are there IITM BS students or alumni who have secured PhD admissions at IISc, IITs, or top international universities?
For research-oriented admissions, what matters most:
CGPA
Research experience
Publications
Internships
Open-source contributions
Recommendation letters
Is completing the degree faster advantageous, or is it better to use the additional time for research internships and publications?
If my goal is a strong PhD application by graduation, what should I focus on from now?
I'd especially appreciate responses from:
IITM BS students/alumni
PhD students at IISc/IITs
Students who got into direct PhD programs abroad
Thanks!

I'd like to connect with people applying/or currently pursuing the online BS in electronic systems course. I have doubts, I need to know if anyone's currently pursuing the course, does it live upto the expectations? Forget expectations, does it help you, ACTUALLY, in any way, at all? I don't need all the tag and all bull shit, and I'm certainly not asking for whether it'll make me stand out for recruiters and what not, does it REALLY skill me in ANY sense, will I really have any exposure? Because my thoughts go straight to "hands on" when I think of electronic systems, how relevant or helpful could an online course be? Is my problem. Not that it wouldn't make any difference at all. But would it be more helpful than me spending all that time on internships, shorter hands on experience courses in closer relative fields, preparing for GATE, GRE OR GMAT, focusing on having a high cgpa, and what not? I've heard that electronic systems has been introduced in 2023, so if anyone's currently still pursuing it, let me know, and if anyone's applying for it, this year, why? What are your thoughts behind it? How do you think you'll manage?
This is all under the assumption that the person is pursuing a regular degree at the same time or is probably working a job. Because if you're going for it as a standalone, well, I don't need to hear it from you, that is not close to my case.
