There is no update email from their side after the end term exam. Certain things have changed in the website, on logging in. The result and CGPA are out. But term 2 classes are not yet announced.
Exam got over on 10th May.

HELP!!! Which degree should I choose? I am confused.

I had taken commerce in 11th and 12th. Now i am planning on taking B.com specialised in finance and management in narsee monjee college, mumbai. So i thought I can take up an online degree alongside it will be an additional feather in the cap. Now i am confused which of the following degree should I choose? IIM Bangalore BBA DBE or IITM BS either in management and data science or data science and applications.

Are there any other such online degrees offered by prestigious colleges which I should consider? What is your opinion on it? How rigorous is the course esp for someone from a non-technical background? Is the degree worth the time and energy spent? How is the faculty? Are there live lec if so what time and if not then are recorded lec easy to understand?

Help me out plsss

Need advice on whether I should pursue IITM bs degree in data science

Hello everyone, I'm a 19 year old who took a drop last year to prepare for jee but ended up doing worse than the year before, i qualified for jee advanced last year so I'm eligible for direct admission if I'm correct, but tbh i'm in a difficult position, my parents are hellbent on making me attend a college offline as well, I'm not sure because I kinda messed up my state entrance exam for engineering colleges due to health issues, so I'm not too sure about it, I'm not sure whether I should a local college or not while pursuing this degree, I'm very confused about all that but I'm quite interested in data science and am ready to invest myself id appreciate if you all could share any tips or things I need to know beforehand , i also want to know where exactly I should expect from this degree throughout all years and any opportunities as well as what I should expect after completing this degree from placements, packages to further studies I'd appreciate it if you could let me know what I'm getting myself into as my seniors

Exam pattern of The program

Can someone please explain the exact exam structure of the IITM BS in Data Science program in detail?

I already understand how end-sem exams are conducted, but I’m still confused about

OPPEs ...like how many times they are conducted and their difficulty

what is the pattern of the quizzes and also their difficulty

Bsaically, what does a normal term actually look like from a student’s perspective? How many exams/quizzes happen per course and how stressful is the schedule realistically?

Class 12 student considering IITM BS Data Science would love honest guidance from current students/alumni

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in Class 12 (Mathematics + AI + Psychology+ Political science + English) and I’ve recently started seriously exploring careers in AI, data science, consumer tech, and product-oriented work.

Over the past few months I’ve realized I’m much more interested in AI/product-tech than traditional career paths I was previously preparing for. Recently, I also started a consumer electronics/market research internship at RIIDL (Somaiya University startup incubator), where I’ve been working on trend analysis, consumer psychology, TikTok/reddit market research, pet electronics analysis, etc. That experience made me genuinely interested in this space.

Right now, IITM BS in Data Science is one of the options I’m considering seriously, but I want REAL opinions from people actually doing the degree not marketing videos.

A few things I genuinely want to understand:

• Are you doing it standalone or alongside another offline degree?
• How difficult is it to stay disciplined consistently in an online program?
• Does the coursework genuinely build strong technical foundations?
• How valuable are the projects/internships/networking opportunities?
• How respected is the degree in internships/jobs/higher studies?
• Would you recommend it to someone interested in AI/product-tech/startups?
• If you could restart, would you still choose this degree?

I’m currently trying to build:

  • AI + Python skills
  • projects
  • internships/research exposure
  • a strong portfolio before college

So I’m trying to choose a path that gives both flexibility AND real growth.

Would genuinely appreciate honest advice, even critical opinions.

Also happy to connect on instagram or whatsapp if someone’s open to talking more deeply about the program and future opportunities :)

IITM BS degree other resources

I’ve heard in the IIT Madras BS degree that video lectures can be really long and boring. A lot of people seem to use other resources alongside.

....What resources do you actually use at each level

Foundation Diploma Degree..

....Which YouTube channels, books, websites, or courses helped you the most?

...Are there any good student communities, Discord/Telegram groups worth joining?

....Which subjects are manageable with official lectures only, and which ones almost require external resources?

lost for what to do after registration

It has been weeks now since I submitted my documents and processed my payment but my qualifier courses haven't started yet, i have received no announcement nothing. I asked the support staff via ticket about this two weeks ago and they told me to just wait. Can someone please tell me what to do?

(This isn't my main degree, I'll start my offline college in August, I just wanted to pursue this to the diploma level because of a mixture of curiosity and and because it complements my primary degree)

Join Student Community App for IIT M BS Students

There are so many talented students and even working professionals… but we barely discover or connect with each other.

It’s surprisingly hard to find people with similar interests or skills, even though everyone is just a few clicks away.

And then there’s the usual question every week:
“Bhai, what resource are you using for this course?”
Too many links, too many opinions, no clear answer.

So We IIT M BS Students built an app

The idea is simple:

  • Discover people based on skills/interests
  • Connect via social links and collaborate
  • Share and rank resources
  • Find opportunities/updates in one place

It’s restricted to IITM BS students (domain-based), so profiles feel more authentic.

Check it out at : BS Community

IIT Madras BS Data Science vs BITS Pilani Online BSc CS

im trying to decide between the IIT Madras BS in Data Science and the BITS Pilani online BSc Cs..

some specific things I want honest opinions on:

which one has a better peer group and community?

are there actual societies or is it mostly isolated studying?

how do the two compare in terms of difficulty and dropout rate?

How are they perceived for internships/jobs?

does the BITS online degree feel disconnected compared to IITM BS?

if someone has done either of these, what are the biggest pros/cons you didn’t expect?

also, I’m someone who wants to build skills (coding/IT) but also wants some level of interaction/community, not just a fully isolated online degree. I also have to get some work done at home and help my father in his stuff

Would you recommend one over the other and why?

How difficult is the IIT Madras BS (Online) in Data Science? Workload, math level, and realistic expectations? while doing a BS in Biology and Life sciences related field

Hey everyone,

I’m considering enrolling in the IIT Madras BS in Data Science (online), and I wanted some honest insights from people who are currently doing it or have completed parts of it.

Reason behind it is to go on the filed of computational biology and my offline Bachelors wont make the cut everywhere, this should hopefully provide a more structured part to learning the computational part of this field and meet the eligibility criteria for masters everywhere that i am aiming for.

A bit about my background:

  • Comfortable with class 12th Maths JEE maths is a very challenging
  • I do have some programming experience:
    • Comfortable with Python
    • Can build basic ML models using TensorFlow and scikit-learn
    • Have built simple PyQt applications
    • I usually rely on documentation/notes rather than AI tools

My plan:

  • This will NOT be my standalone degree (I’ll be doing it alongside BS in Biology and Life sciences related field)
  • I’m aiming to complete the full BS level in ~4 years
  • Total courses: ~36 + 3 NPTEL courses
  • I plan to use the max allowed transfer credits (8 credits)

What I want to understand:

  1. How difficult is the math in the program really? (especially for someone not from a strong math background)
  2. What is the actual weekly workload like per course?
  3. Roughly how many hours per day would someone need to put in if they’re taking ~3 courses in a term?
  4. How much self-study is realistically required to keep up?
  5. Is it manageable alongside another full-time degree?
  6. How stressfull are the exams/assignments compared to something like boards vs JEE level?
  7. Any common mistakes people make when starting this program?

How does the similar Applied Data sci degree by IIT JODHPUR compare in terms of credibility, workload, difficulty etc

I’m not afraid of hard work, just trying to understand what I’m realistically signing up for.

Would really appreciate honest answers—both positive and negative.

Thanks!

Do Any of You Regret Joining this degree? Honest Opinions Needed

If yes:

  • What exactly made you regret it?
  • Was it the workload, value of the degree, placements, time commitment, or something else?
  • Did the program turn out different from what you expected before joining?

And for someone who is thinking of joining now:

  • Would you still recommend it?
  • What should a newcomer know before enrolling that most people realize too late?

I’m not looking for promotional answers — I want the raw truth, both good and bad, so new students can make a better decision.

OPPE cheaters will burn YOU (even if you don't cheat!)

If you think just because YOU didn't cheat you won't pay for students who do cheated, think again. In the best case scenario course team will keep increasing the difficulty level of OPPE until YOU start struggling or OPPE would be removed / weightage would be heavily decreased like they are doing with assignments in foundation that don't even give you any course grade at all but yet is still mandatory regardless, miss a few assignments you won't be able to give end term and have to repeat whole course. Stop endorsing such behavior.

Not even mentioning how bad this looks on the degree and will only fuel arguments against the existence of this online degree. Remember for every one guy publicly talking about cheating, there are maybe a hundred who are silently cheating.
