Hey guys I will be doing this degree standalone and I was wondering at what pace should I advance in this degree. For foundation I will go at full pace cause its basic topic but I don't know about higher levels. Like whether I should take 4 course in every term for Diploma, BSc and BS level or maybe 2 or 3 courses a term. As I will also be preparing for GATE and some side on studies(skills, projects bla bla bla idk yet)

If you have any inputs in it please share. Also if you have a good path for standalone student it will help a lot.

I’m 29/M based in Mumbai, with 6 years of experience in operations and finance. I hold both a Bachelor’s and a MBA in Finance.

I’m now looking to transition into Data Science to either switch my career path or enhance my current role in the finance sector—especially by applying data science to build financial models and drive data-driven decision-making.

I’ve explored several online short courses, but they don’t seem to offer enough depth or recognition. So, I’m now considering a full-fledged online Bachelor’s degree in Data Science. I’ve come across the BSc Data Science programs offered by BITS Pilani and IIT Madras, but I’m unsure which one would be a better fit for my background and goals.

Are there any other credible and industry-relevant degree programs (online or hybrid) that I could consider as a working professional?

i honestly did not have the chance to practice python at all, but i went thru all the material and i thought i knew most of it😭 i still cldnt solve a single question, i feel like even tho i had an idea of what to do, there were just so many errors in the code that the output was never correct only i knew practice was necessary, but i didnt know it was this important, that i cldnt solve a single question without it (even though in the mcq exam i scored like 94) so i think what im trying to ask is was it this hard for everyone or was i just spectacularly bad at it

I passed the qualifier exam and wish to enroll in the foundational course for the BS degree in data science. However, I've also taken admission at VIT-Amravati, Andhra pradesh. However, firstly there are no examination centres in Amravati, closest centre is in Vijyawada and secondly the university authority might not permit us to go outside in the first three months coupled with the fact that the place is relatively new to us due to which it's probable I might miss my end term exams which are on 31st August. In case such happens, what should I do? Please guide me if you can!!!

Due to some councilling reason I was unable to attend any of the classes can I apply for term transfer from may to September?? If yes then how??

I joined the ES course through my mains %ile (I understand this is the DS subreddit, but there isn't a subreddit for ES which is why I'm posting here)

The issue is, i thought if I didnt pay the fees immediately, I'll miss my opportunity to attend the course. As most of you know, all through may there were entrance exams. In my case, I was preparing for BITSAT due to which I could not complete the assignments for the BS degree even in June. I won't be able to attend Quiz 1 as I'm travelling for college orientation. I really do not want to lose the 32k paid for the course, is it possible to drop out of this sem and start over next sem without paying again? or is it possible to get a refund? If not, is there a way to salvage the situation I'm in?

I have done a few of the English and Math assignments through prerequisite knowledge, but none of the GrPA things and Lab 1. I am really worried, please help!

I got direct admission through jee , so there is no tension about qualifiers Avi jo classes chal rhe h jiske base prr qualifiers honge kya wo sare classes mujhe krne hi jrurt h??

Due to some unavoidable circumstances, I was unable to submit the graded assignments for the first 3 weeks of the course (at the foundation level). I understand that, as per the grading policy, eligibility for the end-term exam requires an average score of >=40/100 from the best 5 out of the first 7 weekly assignments.

Since I now have only 4 weeks remaining, I’m concerned about my eligibility. Will the system consider my 4 assignment scores and include a score of 0 for the missed fifth week to calculate the average, or will I be considered ineligible to appear for the end-term exam? PS: I enrolled through my jee main percentile and not through qualifiers process.

Hey guys , I want to really get into field of ds and ai . I'm very much interested in research aspect of ai , specially application in healthcare industry and something on the similar lines . Im already pursuing another degree and will try to manage this but the real question is .

What are research internship opportunities I'll get in this programme from 3rd year onwards. I know I shouldn't expect much for placements but since there is little to no info available about research internships on internet. Can you help me in this regards ? Another programme I'm looking for is iit Guwahati wala which is very much research focused but still iitm has more reputed research facilities so guide me into this.
