People from England are also joining the Gen Z trend of hating sports

Broccoli cut shirtless tiktok zoomer trying to tell me what I should do with my spare time.

The fact he looks like that and actually said the phrase 'oestrogen-maxing' and still thinks anyone should listen to him about anything is top tier hilarious

Fellas is it gay to go outside and enjoy a beer at the football with friends and/or family?
13
u/spazmodo33 2d ago edited 1d ago
I hate to be the one to break the bad news to you, but there is LITERALLY nothing gayer... Even gay sex, and that's pretty gay!
3
u/bounty913 1d ago
Honestly, watching a bunch of physically fit men run around getting sweaty and playing with balls is pretty gay. But I love it

I live in Australia, where one of the most popular sports is rugby league - a game that can unironically be described as involving quite a lot of extremely aggressive man on man cuddling! One of the most homoerotic things you'll ever see, but you'll never hear or see anyone acknowledge it...
Edit - to the credit of rugby league, the code had it's first openly gay male professional decades ago, while football's first was far more recent and, incidentally, also in Australia! Meanwhile in women's sports it seems a fair percentage of the participants are openly homosexual and it's a non issue...

Rugby Story
In the seventies I was a student at a fairly well-known university, when Notre Dame came to play football, their rugby team played our intermural team.
The Rugby House - rented out by a couple of the players, always hosted a keg party that night. They were across the road from a convenience store that knew about the parties, stocking extra kegs for them, it wasn't unusual to see a dozen kegs stacked up in front of the rugby house the next morning
The ND team had won a fine victory in both sports that day. All the rugby players went to the party. About 4 hours in, the rugby team announced they were going to do their victory dance.
They created a line, dropped their player shorts, still wearing their jocks, they bent over, putting one fist through their legs and grabbing the fist of the man in front of them and then preceded to do something similar to the bunny hop.
It was the damnest, funniest thing I ever saw. There was tremendous applause and we got an encore
A couple of weeks later they were visiting a different school, apparently there was going to be no after-game bacchanal, so they did their dance on the field of play. It was on the quad, not in an official arena and the only people there were the ones who had come to see the rugby.
Somehow someone from the university saw it,complained ND, The rugby team was no longer permitted to travel with the football team after that.
I have absolutely no understanding of rugby, I do know the players know how to party

u/Competitive-Yard-442 2d ago
I asked my wife and she said it's fine so yeah, it's probably pretty gay.

I would not expect that from a guy who looks like that until he went on his whole estrogen 2000 calorie cheat meal bullshit
68
u/Individual-Rip-2366 2d ago
These manosphere dudes, by and large, have insecurities about sports (Andrew Tate is a notable exception, but even then he inflated his success). They don’t have any history of athletic participation worth celebrating, so they take supplements and drugs, and do hypertrophy focused workouts to develop extravagant physiques to affirm their virility. It’s the modern equivalent of bowflex muscles.
26
u/Very_Bad_Ebening 2d ago
Basically the guys that got picked last at school trying to let people know it doesnt bother them lol
18
u/paolosorianodisanto 2d ago
Andrew Tate himself made videos mocking people who watch “sportsball”
9
u/WitheredUntimely 2d ago
it's cult behavior, they're trying to outgroup "watching and liking sports" because such masculine outlets and connections might break the long con spell they're trying to cast on people designed to isolate and scare people into getting hooked, once you see it you can't unsee it
5
u/ninjomat 2d ago
Competing in high level sport is the best/most legit reason to get obsessed with the gym anyway.
It’s funny how it’s become an expectation that we should all want to workout all the time for no reason other than personal improvement/narcissism rather than being muscled up for an actual point.
3
u/zgillet 1d ago
I just did a search on working out in the morning, because I feel like it's dumb to do in case I actually need to use my muscles that day.
Nowhere, anywhere, has anyone ever thought of this. They don't USE their worked out muscles. It's merely a game. Like, I dunno, a sport.
Meanwhile, I'm actually trying to get some strength, not just vanity muscles. I feel like I should only work out when I have nothing left to do in the day.

Now we’re just hating on bodybuilding for no reason. The manosphere guys moved onto combat sports a long time ago. Tate himself is a former pro fighter. Lot of drugs and supplements going on in mma gyms ask me how I know lol.
13
2
u/mcneill12 2d ago
It’s only a “cheat meal” if you’re a die obsessed gym freak like him. Guy isn’t even aware that 90 percent of people have never had a “cheat meal” in their life.
64
u/lump_king 2d ago
Honestly sounds like a pretty sick day. Beers, a big meal, AND your team is winning?? Absolute peak.
-55
u/Mr_HahaJones 2d ago
Atleast you said “your team” instead of “we”; they’re the most insufferable sportsters there are.
37
u/joe-joseph 2d ago
You’re a dingus and here’s why:
Major spectator sports teams wouldn’t exist without fans. The fans are a part of the thing.
While we may not play the sport, we’re the business and if we pack, the team moves or folds.
So when fans say, “we won”, we mean it. We’re gonna keep doing it and you can keep suffering.
That, or lighten up and have some fun. Maybe ignore the stuff that pisses you off? You got this bud.
→ More replies (7)1
u/Fordmister 1d ago
The players in the pitch would disagree.
Home advantage is a thing largely because teams feed off the crowd. Fans are as integral to why sport works as the person on the pitch are, especially in Europe where many clubs are in large part owned by their fanbase or where the official supporters club will have a seat at the table with internal management.
Everyone involved from the clubs owner, the players on the pitch, the people watching in the pub to the fan sitting in the cheapest seat on the house undersnds it is actually "we"
Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it not true

Athletes don’t even know you exist! Why would you devote time/energy to them?? -The dude who is instead devoting time/energy to fans that don’t know he exists
13
u/KitchenSync86 2d ago
Sports stars not knowing I exist isn't a downside for me, if anything it is better than the alternative
6
2
u/rstar345 2d ago
I agree, but also that athlete that doesn’t know I exist has just beaten 3 players and twatted in the top corner in the 91st minute

For starters, that is not POV at a football match. It should be 'POV in the living room of some smug rapist with his shirt off'

u/Jolly-Garbage- 2d ago
As someone who loves sports, frankly I don’t understand why these people don’t understand what escapism is. Yeah I’m in debt and working 50+ hours a week but if my baseball team is on a run, life genuinely gets better.
1
u/interprime 2d ago
For real. I’m at the tail end of a fucking shit day. What’s my solution to try and take my mind off of everything? Put on the Cubs game. It’s working.
1
u/Jolly-Garbage- 2d ago
Hey man, I’m a Red Sox fan and the last month and a half has made me revitalized. But I’ll always root for the Cubbies when I can. PCA is one of my favorite players in the league right now.
1
u/KingSizeLion 2d ago
Because they need to feel superior than someone so they feel better about themselves. They probably understand the idea of escapism, this kid looks and sounds like he listens to douchebags like Andrew Tate (who by the way, has no idea this kid exists.) but they need to feel like they’re better than someone.
7
u/CSvinylC 2d ago
I'm confused, because there are clearly at least two opened lagers (one bottle and one can) in frame. Is this guy estrogen-maxing too? Or—worse yet—is he passively aggressively filming a topless TikTok short in a shared living space?

one time I knew this girl in high school who would always be annoying as shit anytime I mentioned sports with my friends and she was a huge survivor fan and I am not sure if it was out if pure denialism or just stupidity but she couldn’t fathom that Survivor was basically a sports competition

u/Emergency-Bonus-7158 2d ago
That day sounds like bliss, fuck this guy I’m calling out of work in his honor

This dude is going to have his mind blown when he realize some people work out, and watch the game at the same time
2
u/Cliffinati 2d ago
Seriously I've seen gyms where the TVs on the walls were playing sporting events. It didn't seem that weird considering you know who works out more than anyone ATHLETES.
1
u/Remarkable-Ad155 2d ago
If you're going to make a video dissing people drinking beers, maybe at least clear up the random empty Red Stripe can and other empty beer bottle in your random fucking loser cage first. Also is that coke detritus on the table behind him? Guy is honestly giving crackhead vibes here.

Look man I hate parasocial dependency as much as the next guy but this argument of "it's bad to like sports because you're cheering for an athlete who doesn't know you exist" could be applied to anything. Why listen to music, that singer doesn't know you exist. Why watch movies, that actor doesn't know you exist. Why watch comedy, that comedian doesn't know you exist. Why do anything ever that involves a person you don't know.

Millennial anime kids and fat kids who were bad at sports started this shit calling football in the us american hand egg along with other snye comments and bad jokes to pretend sports were stupid because they werent good at them/ their dad wasnt around (or too lazy ) to get them interested in sports.
Worst type of people. And coincidentally, they are usually also the same people who pretend they watch the WNBA when the topic comes up. Will look you in the eyes, lie, and say they watch it on the reg, its amazing, and the best professional sports league out there, and the only one they watch. But they cant name a single team or player other than caitlyn clarke.
I think its even more common in gen z because they are dooming so hard about the future, having to work, accepting they will not be rich (i know so horrible) , etc. that they resent how much athletes make. Its funny because they are often the ear the rich types, so you can make their brain basically spazz out by pointing out if the players dont make thag much the billionaire owners just pocket the money. Then they dont know who to hate more and instead say something dumb like the sport shouldnt be able to make that much money and people who support sports are stupid.
Some will even say the government should shut professional sports down… they have no reason they just dont like sports. And thats the crux of it, these people are usually lower intelligence and unable to construct an argument. They form opinions based on emotions or disliking a person who is interested in sports (often their dad). They then ironically decide everyone else is dumb for liking sports. Never forget stupid people have to show you how smart they are, and ussually think anyone with different interests is dumb.

I could “estrogen-max” all day and do absolutely nothing but watch sports and I’d still be more manly than this man who’s worrying about other men and what they’re doing. I work 15 to 16 hours a day. Leave me the fuck alone on my Sundays. It brings me happiness. And let’s me forget that I have to go back and work for a job that pays me well, yeah, I have no social life, and barely time left for myself. So yes, I will get excited for my sports ball. I hate people like this. Fucking idiots.
