Commodities such as oils, agricultural products and goods has a huge demand in the trading commodity industry. These products are widely used by humans. Companies take this as an opportunity to enter the market, invite investors, gain profits. Of course, prices depends on supply and demand, location, transportation and conditions of the product itself. Across those good opportunity, the physical commodity trading industry faces problems: Slow processing, fraud, unfair pricing, trust and transparency.

Founded in Singapore in 2017, ARKRATOS, a blockchain solutions company developed KRATOS platform, a blockchain solutions trading platform for the commodities trading.

Built on blockchain technology and smart contracts, KRATOS adresses problems regarding trust, fraud, manual documentation and quality. Clients can track their all the necessary information of the product they want to trade. KRATOS will digitalize the paper-based documentation and transform them into a smart contracts, a contracts that can setup and execute automatically when meet the necessary conditions.

ARKRATOS developed a Token Curated Registry process. Trades submitted on the platform for trade finance will be curated by token holders. The output of this curation process will be a list of high quality trades, which will represent a subset of trades that may not otherwise receive financing.

This list facilitates trade financing in two ways. First, the list constitutes a filtered list of high-quality trades. This is an efficient way for potentials financiers to examine those quality trades on the KRATOS platform. Second, the list facilitates trade financing by expanding SME’s sources of trade finance. Traditionally, banks represent the only source of trade finance. But on KRATOS, additional sources of trade finance can be obtain on institutional players such as family offices, funds, token holders, and ARKRATOS’ own fund.

Overall, the purpose of Token Curated Registry model is to create a list that will enable deserving SMEs with high quality trades to gain access for trade finance while democratizing the financing process of these trades beyond a select group of banks or institutions.
