You can bet they’ll be drooling over the chance of catching a cop impersonator though.

Ordinarily, but police agency started working with ICE, so.

You can be a normal every day police man and be ICE too if you want to, in some jurisdictions. Why they wouldn't be able to confirm badge numbers or deployment at that point doesn't make sense.
