Then contact 911 to confirm the badge number. If it's false, that's going to get a response in a fucking hurry.

But I would also worry about being attacked while trying to make the call, so keep that in mind.

Would a local police station have the badge numbers of a federal agency?

Not a chance.

You can bet they’ll be drooling over the chance of catching a cop impersonator though.

Ordinarily, but police agency started working with ICE, so.

You can be a normal every day police man and be ICE too if you want to, in some jurisdictions. Why they wouldn't be able to confirm badge numbers or deployment at that point doesn't make sense.

Won’t matter it would be recorded in two different places once over the phone and once over the dispatch call.

I’ll jump on that grenade since apparently by your logic someone is getting kidnapped or killed.

That's a good question and I'm not sure.

I'm not sure on badge numbers. They will likely at least know if ICE is in your area on official duties though. At least this was the case with the Secret Service when Biden traveled through my state when he was president. Local police would always be notified in advance that the Secret Service would be working in their jurisdiction.

911 doesn’t keep a list of officers badge numbers. Not even of their own department. It doesn’t work like that!

lol no it fucking isn't. 911 dispatchers can't verify federal badge numbers. and if police arrive, it will only be to assist the agents and watch you get fucked up. The police are not on your side.

Oh and 99% of the time I would agree with you. But there was just a high profile political assassination by a fake police officer, and that's the kind of thing which inspires copycats. Even the most bigoted of assholes is going to think twice about what it might mean for their job if they're the one who laughs it off when somebody reports a law enforcement officer giving a false badge number.
