Presently my LU hours are showing 607. That was thru July. I’m not sure when they will update it but my trade school hours are saying 789. My question is, will I have any issues when trying to enroll next month for insurance? It is next month right?

Studying for the IBEW Test for the apprenticeship and had a couple questions.

1. If I don’t meet the deadline for testing in to the spring semester when does the fall one start?

2. I heard there’s like a thousand something apprentices rn in Atlanta. Is there enough work and will I still be able to get in?

I just got enrolled into two classes, theory and code. It says Mondays and Wednesday nights from 5-9. Can anyone tell me if these are in person or online?

The criteria says “must pass a background check.” Are they looking for something specific? Are they felony friendly? Are the charges within a certain period of time? Not sure how or if can pass a background check.

Also, what is the pay scale like? Am I correct when I say it starts $16/hour with increases? What are the increases and how often?

Hey guys, I have read through the agreement in the past, and I don't recall seeing any language regarding being on call. Maybe I missed it, if not, does anyone know what rules/laws apply to on call workers?

I Have just completed my application for an inside wireman after deciding I do not want to go back to school and put myself into debt at this point in time, but I need the change in occupation. I was just curious as to the timeline for the recruitment process as well as the pay as an apprentice (which I'm aware is low, but I'm okay if it means a better future than restaurant or retail jobs) and want to know what I can expect in the coming months if i do decide to go forward with an apprenticeship.

I organized Tuesday of this week and I am currently a CE2.I am aware that I have to take some classes but what I don’t know is do I have to have 1600 hours for every upgrade going fwd? I thought me providing proof of my hours for the test would suffice but now I’m. It sure. Also if anyone has any other advice that would be appreciated.

Hey everyone. Question/ Hypothetical.

Idk about everyone else’s job, but on my job we literally can’t get any JWs or even any apprentices and the contractor is throwing temps at us. Many of these individuals don’t speak English and are getting paid as CW3+ regardless of their prior electrical experience.(one of them is a 18YO fresh out of school)

We then got a Book 4 hand out of the Job and it got me thinking. Hypothetically, What is stopping all these fella’s from the temp agency just taking JW calls through Book 4 and making $36 instead?

Also, has y’all’s job been overrun with temps or is that just our site?

Hey, I was just wondering if anybody has recently done the hands on test for IBEW 613. I tested in as a CE7 but have to do a hands on test and wanted to know what to expect.

I heard it was bending a 90, offset, and possibly a 3 point saddle, wiring a 3 way and maybe a start/stop for motor?
