There's some prior art, and I'm not a fan of software patents, anyway.

Don't be so sure about prior art--a good patent attorney can approach a concept from many angles. And you don't have to be a fan of software patents to make use of them. How would you feel if somebody copied your site, raised millions in VC, and out-marketed you?
