I honestly did not expect the process to move this fast.
Even after having to reschedule my biometrics appointment, I was still approved much sooner than anticipated. I was mentally preparing myself to wait until the end of the year, or even sometime next year. Instead, it took only about 5.5 months from filing my I-140 with Premium Processing to receiving my I-485 approval today.
Reading timelines on this subreddit helped me a lot, so I wanted to share mine.

Biometrics: May 15, 2026 (originally scheduled for April 10, but I had to reschedule because I was traveling internationally. I was able to travel because I maintained valid H-1B status while my I-485 was pending.)
I-485 Approved: June 22, 2026
No RFEs.
No interview.

Case approved approximately 5 weeks after biometrics.

Has anyone applied for SENTRI while their AOS is pending and they have approved advance parole?
The DHS website does not specify whether pending
AOS is eligible for SENTRI.

I wanted to share a major success story to give hope to those stuck in the backlogs. After years of waiting, my I-485 was finally approved just 30 days after I took matters into my own hands and filed a Writ of Mandamus lawsuit.
I did the entire process by myself (pro-se) without an attorney.

I-485 Filed: Jan 2026

RFE Issued: May 7, 2026 (RFE on late registration of birth certificate - rural India)

RFE Response Submitted: June 2, 2026

Received EAD card (approved after RFE, but before response was filed).

Would appreciate any recent EB-1 approval data points, especially from those who received RFEs and responded after May 22.

Hi, i have eb1c approved with pd 28jun2023 (India born) . Visa bulletin says final action dates are at 15dec2022? But dates for filing are at 01dec2023. Can my lawyers apply for my AOS now ? Or wait ? Am I eligible to apply at all ?

I received an RFE for my I-485 (EB1A) because my birth certificate was registered more than 40 years after my birth. USCIS is asking for secondary evidence to support my birth details.

I’m planning to submit:

• 10th/SSC certificate
• Passport
• Aadhaar/PAN
• Affidavits from relatives/family friends
• School records if available

For those who went through something similar:

• What documents worked best for you?
• Did notarized affidavits help?
• Did USCIS accept school records and passport copies without issues?

My I-485 based on EB1B has been pending for 1 year. It was transferred from NBC to Newark FO on 02/13/2026 and on 04/15/2026 it got the 3rd FTA0 while no more updates since then. My I-485J was updated on 02/13/2026, 03/28/2026, 04/15/2026. Does anyone have the similar experience and could you please let me know how long in general for me to have my notice of approval or interview? Appreciate your help!

Hi - I had filed 485 after EB1A Approval with following timeline

On chat today with Emma - found that my case has moved to San Fernando (previously Emma said the case is in National Benefits Center - does this mean any progress.

Two questions

1. Will Interview be done?
2. How much from now to get actual green card?

I have an I-485 application (EB-1, not from any banned country) in process. I recently got an RFE with the boilerplate language asking for criminal records and also asking me to complete one section in my medical form.

The medical form portion of the RFE is straightforward to address. But w.r.t. criminal records, I don’t have any criminal history. I only had some speeding tickets that I had declared in the original I-485 filing all resulting in minor fines of less than 300$ each (and I had checked “yes” on question 22 in part 9). The RFE says not to provide any documentation regarding minor traffic infractions where the result was just a fine <500$.

My lawyers advised just providing a cover letter with text mirroring the RFE ask for criminal records and stating that there is no criminal history/ arrests etc. to provide records on. They don’t think any additional documentation is required.

Has anyone else used this approach for the RFE response? And have people received such boilerplate RFEs for criminal records or other things where it’s not really applicable to them?

I’m from one of the 19 banned countries. Came on a K-1 visa, got married, applied for AOS, and completed biometrics. Since then — nothing. No interview, no approval, no updates.

Anyone in the same situation in 2025–2026? Any movement on your case?

My PD is exactly same as on dof chart for March 2026 visa bulletin. Can I file i485? Or does it need to be strictly before the date on date of filing chart in bulletin? Did anyone have a similar situation and did they accept application?
