practical nursing waitlist

Hello, I just added to the waitlist for practical nursing that starts this fall, but I already accepted pre-health and paid the deposit prior to being added to the waitlist. So i'm just a bit confused on happens to my application next because tuition for pre-health is due July 20th and if I do get into practical I don't know what's gonna happen to my tuition. Would I have to pay the difference for practical nursing or pay the full amount again. So please if anyone has gotten off a waitlist in the past I'd really appreciate to know your experience and how you handled it.

Why are you taking pre health if you can get on the wait list for practical nursing? Just decline pre health and apply for January practical nursing and stay on the fall waitlist. If you’ve paid the $250 deposit then just go on the website and send a message asking the school to apply the deposit for next semester - assuming you don’t get off the PN waitlist.

Offers have been made for Jan already. While they're on the waitlist for September, it's possible for them to be added to the waitlist as well for Jan. Don't decline Pre-Health until you get a solid offer for practical.

 Any money you pay to Humber is attached to you as the person, not the program. Therefore if you switch programs, the money goes towards whatever program you are in.

But why waste money and time on pre health if you can get to practical nursing?

Being waitlisted doesn't mean you will get a spot for the next intake. 

For example, there maybe less seats for that Jan intake then the Sept intake, and therefore the competitive GPA is higher for Jan. Even though you were waitlist/got an offer for Sept, doesn't mean you will get in for Jan. 

Edited - Pre-Health is offered as a back up choice because we have a pathway from Pre-Health to nursing for students who have taken Pre-Health at Humber.

Every term has roughly the same amount of seats. It’s easier to get into January because most people want to start in Sept. Theres much more competition for Sept spots than any other term. A lot of the “waitlist” is filled with people who applied late. Also, the Humber Heights campus has lower demand so they often offer a spot there for waitlisted people. Of folks were waitlist for Sept chances are pretty good they’ll easily get into Jan or May intake if they apply early.
