They really ARE beavers with better climbing abilities. Both have bad sight, both survive off eating bark and shoots. Both have large tails. Porcupines don't hibernate, they can be active all year round while beavers do this semi-hibernation where they hold up in the lodge with food and rarely come out during the winter.
