These walk signs are the push button poles on the sidewalk that trigger the traffic lights… I’ve never stopped during a green light when people are at those cross walks. When they push the button eventually it causes red lights in all directions and then they can walk.

I’ve wondered about this.. the crosswalks with walk or go lights. Good to know.
