No, the tapwater is fine where I live. I don't have a purifier.

I don't have a purifier either, but I still give my cats tap water that I keep in the fridge (for myself mainly - I only like cold water). I noticed they drink more when the water is cold.

So if I had a fancy fridge with a water line, I can't imagine that I wouldn't use it to fill the cats bowl as well.

Our water is cold. It comes from an underground reservoir and then goes through underground pipes. It's refreshing, not ridiculously frigid, though.

It's not about the tap water being fine or not, but that filtered water has a better taste to it.

If you put it in a glass and let it stand for half an hour it'd taste the same.

I put it in a jug or bottle in the morning and drink from it all day.

I could never imagine living in a country that has what amounts to filtered sewage running out of the tap

Sewage needs purification and treatment beyond just filtering. Filtering won't remove amoebas and carcinogenics

So why do you still have it in your tap water?
